Notes:
Like Hopslam, but more! Dry-hopped at twice the rate, made with Michigan honey and has lots of tropical and stone fruit notes from the hops.

From the bottle release July, 2020. Bell's says the recipe was tweaked a bit since the previous batch last winter. The taste of this beer has a more intense Hopslam character than when I had it on tap in January. This one was a real treat.

This year's version is checking in at 11.3% ABV. This beer is double dry hopped Hopslam.
WOW! Just a great beer that doesn't drink like 11.3%. Hopeful this sees bottles and distribution.

A vast improvement over Hopslam. Had on tap at Crunchy's in East Lansing. Massive apricot, mango, and other tropical fruit notes at the front of the palate and doesn't have the hotness or astringent bitterness that Hopslam has on the back end. Great beer overall and I would much rather pay $17.99+ for a six pack of this over Hopslam any day of the week.

Glad I had the chance to try this one at the eccentric cafe. Pours a beautiful orange color. Very cloudy, almost hazy. Almost reminds me of a North East Ipa but not quite. Not the same level of murkiness. Lots of hops in the aroma, grapefruit, mango, and other tropical fruits. Taste is excellent. Some sweetness from the malts but really juicy. Grapefruit, melon, mango, and apricots. Dry, but not crazy dry finish. Begs you to keep drinking it.

On tap at Bell's.
Poured a hazy, bright gold color with a soapy egg shell white head. Looks like an Unfiltered Enjoy By.
Smells like pungent hops. Very tropical and musty with a lot of sharp fruit rind.
TONS of apricot! There is also a lot of musk melon and mango. This thing punches you in the mouth with fruit. Like chewing on grapefruit rinds soaked in ripe peach juice. A bit of a sharp yeast bite and some alcohol that is reminiscent of fermented pineapple. While super juicy, it still has a lot of green hops and some bitterness so it is never too sweet and east coast like.
This is a totally different animal than Hopslam. I think I like it better, and my score might be conservative. Would love to see this get bottled, or at least try it again.
