Hazy peach with a short white head, fine lacing. Fruity aroma with a raw wheat character and a mild clove spiciness. Fruit carries into the flavour, low bitterness, bready yeast, some caramel, with spice in the finish. Light body, slightly drying, even texture. An enjoyable beer - crisp with some great flavour. This would be great in the summer.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with Jcapriotti (thanks!).

Poured a deep and hazy golden color with a larger sized off white head. Upon initial pour, it immediately reminded me of a bowl of Wheaties. Aromas of wheat and yeast with some banana and citrus in the background. Tastes of wheat, bananas, lemons and light cloves.

Nice wheat produced here. Good yeasty aroma reminiscent of a hefeweizen touches of banana and spices. Pours a cloudy golden yellow, slim white head was a let down but decent lacing is present. Smooth full satisfying mouthfeel, finish is a little detracting. Flavor is very solid and enjoyable. Heavy wheat presence, lightly hopped. This american wheat is very close to a classic german hefe in many aspects. Solid effort.

Thanks Grub for the Bell's Wheat Series Horizontal Tasting! Much appreciated.
Wheat Two Ale pours with thick, white bubbly head. A mostly light colour, clear body but with some deep golden hue. More of a German hefeweisse aroma than American wheat. A little warm and bready for my liking, although some really nice malty notes shines through at times. Seemed to be more wheat in the aroma than the flavour. First impession is that this drinks like a lager, and I could swear there is some pilsner malt in there! A nice, crisping finish. A low level of bitterness, something else seems to abrupt the finish. I found this too similar to a macro lager, although the wheat does push this a little higher up. Simply not the quality of Bell's I was expecting and not the American Wheat style I'm accustomed to.

horizontal tasting of the four in the wheat series.

pours a pale yellow colour with a small white head. very fine bubbles and leaves a little lace.

aroma is nice. slightly lager-ish, and a bit of funk. bit of clove and corriander. nice wheaty malt.

taste is nice. low bitterness, nice and dry with just a little maltyness. the wheat malt doesn't really come through so much in the taste. a hint of clove and corriander is definitely there.

mouthfeel is good. dry, medium body. carbonation feels a little low for a hefe.

drinkability is great. very nice drinkable brew.

Poured a cloudy dark straw hue with two fingers of foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing. Good sediment.

The smell featured a light wheat and yeast aroma with traces of banana.

The taste consisted of a light and wheaty malt with a tingle of clove spice. An excellent yeasty bread finish.

The mouthfeel was nice and chewy yet crisp.

Overall a very easy drinking pale wheat ale. Thanks to orbitalr0x for sending me this one.

Color is cloudy and golden brown. Head was thick, but fell fast leaving almost no lacing. Smell is slightly watery with some nice wheaty smells of lemon and a sweet orange. Taste is medium bodied with a slight lemon, but more of the funny orange was present. This flavor is sweet. Mouthfeel is average with a strange rubbery feel to it. I would like a fresh bottle before making any decisions of this beer.

Thanks to Golden2wenty1, who provided this as part of Wheat/Weiss night....

Appearance: Hazy orange amber. Not much head, and only a little thin suds cover. Low viscosity.

Aroma: Sweet oranges and melons, some honey and just the slightest grassiness in the finish.

Taste: Sweet and mellow - orange, honey, caramel, with hints of dry wheat in the finish. Not complicated or heavy, but definitely a different take on wheat beer brewing.

Mouthfeel: Light, smooth, with a velvety mouthfeel and a dry finish that mediates the sweetness and keeps things refreshing. Low constant carbonation.

Drinkability: In a lot of ways this beer reminds me of my one experience with Oberon from a minikeg. Very well balanced and nicely put together. Mild and extremely drinkable.

I was supprised at the fact that is my least favorite wheat beer out of the 4 that bells is doing. It poured a bright orange hue with tons of sediment floating around in the beer. It smelled of strong wheats, citrius, and caramel. It tased bitter followed by some malty sweetness. It was a light bodied compared to the other wheats however it was the most carbonated of the four. I would probably not purchase this one again and would have a hard time sessioning this beer.

pours out a hazy copper colour that looks thick as a milkshake with the sediment swirled in. a thick frothy head presents itself and wisps of laciness spots the glass as i drink. yeasty, lightly spicy and peppered aroma...some sweet maltiness in the background. flavour is a blend of gentle wheat and yeast flavours...some wit notes of coriander spice and a peppery tongue tingling sensation that slides away but leaves one longing for another sip. there is an alcohol note that adds to the overall spicy character, which suits me just fine, especially as it warms a bit. this is a full bodied wheat ale with a silky smooth, albeit a touch tingly, mouthfeel. it's very dry in the end, making it unique and overall very drinkable.

this is the first of the wheat series from bell's i've tried and i like the depth of spiciness in this one. a good summer drinker with character.

Pours a hazy bright orange-gold with a good-sized head and lots of carbonation. Aroma is clean and wheaty with a hint of citrus.

Taste is a wheat-infused malty sweetness with a gentile hop bitterness. A wave of orange flavor follows the wheat base. Possibly a bit of rye added for a touch of sour mash.

Mouthfeel is medium, a little light-bodied for a wheat ale. Well-carbonated, almost to fizzy. Definitely very drinkable, I could session this if they just made more.

Surprised by how fast the white inch-thick head falls away and stays away. Very little lacing or follow-up bubbling.

Cloudy rust orange beer smells nice and wheaty. It's peppery over banana taffy, but comes across more as spices and cirtus fruit in the mouth. Very little hop bitterness, but nice complimentary sour and wheat twang.

Two is not carbonated like most of the wheats I've had, and that kind of saps some of its summertime joy for me. It's heavier in the mouth than I expected, too. It's a tasty experiment, just not what I would reach for first. On to four, six, etc.

Creamy white head sits atop a sunburst orange body, fish-food flakes of yeast floating around. Nice wheaty scent, hints of citrus mixed in with that. Very refreshing taste, classic wheat aspects: wheat, citrus, banana. Thin mouth, made for drinking 12 at a time. A very crisp, refreshing drink that should suit anyone during the summer months.

I really like the appearance of this beer. I nice masculine deep golden/copper, atop sits a half inch white head that leaves sticky lacing behind. Uber amounts of carbonation bubbles make their way to the top in a race for freedom. And a few yeast particles gently glide through the magic elixr.

Hints of corriander, yeast, wheat bread, lemon, white pepper, anise, and maybe even a little star fruit.

Again corriander in the mouth, with a predominant wheat toast flavor. Nice, crisp carbonated mouthfeel. Very belgian in style. Like the appearance would lead you to believe this is a masculine wheat beer. Very bold, thick flavors, well balanced, with good complexity.

The corriander hurts the drinkability from my perspective slightly but still a damn drinkable beer.

This Bell's Wheat 2 pours with a slightly hazy gold to amber hue with lots of foam that settles quickly to give the beer a flat appearance. The nose is very organic and earthy; sort of like how my tap water smells after a heavy rain. There's a bit of toasted malt aroma, too. The mouthfeel is smooth. Caramel malt flavors mingle with fruity (banana?) yeasty esters as the hops are kept in the background. The finish is relatively dry and helps drinkability. Not as much complexity as Bell's Wheat 8, which I think I prefer.
