12 oz. bottle poured into nonic

L: slightly hazy yellow-orange topped by almost 1/2-inch head of creamy offwhite foam; very easy to see through but it does have a mistiness to it; no sticking or lacing; keeps a think collar and about half a skin

S: grapefruit, grapefruit jelly donut

T: grapefruit, orange, cilantro ... hop bite is big and flavorful, not overly bitter but there's some grapefruit peel in there; malt is still mostly subdued but under the hop bite is a slight biscuity sweetness

F: easy all around, good carbonation, just under a middleweight

O: fantastic hoppy brew with plenty of grapefruit flavor; I got my six-pack in good fresh-hop range ... the malt is still way in the background, just offering some balancing sweetness ... another week or so, though, and I can tell a full malt takeover might be in order because Bell's definitely didn't skimp on the barley with this brew, they just did a great job of front-loading with those Amarillo hops

Pours a clear yellow golden color with white colored head. Bright tropical fruit, citrus, and a nice light pine note on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with a mix of tropical light fruit and grapefruit with a hint of pine. Nicely done to showcase the Amarillo hop.

This one pours a pleasant and cloudy umber color that has a thin long lived head that settles quickly with little lacing down the glass.

The nose consists of pine, oranges, elderberry, camphor, bread, and wet grass.

The taste is exceptionally strong hoppiness with a VERY dry malt base that consists of strong sense of camphor, evergreen, pine, ear wax, and bread.

The moutfeel is rich and quite satisfactory.

Overall a stoutly bitter IPA that is exceptional considering its bitterness. I found it to accompany real country made beef jerk jerky quite accommodating and delicious. Bells is showing a lot of promise since coming to be sold here locally, I am enjoying this one thoroughly.

I had to try this after I saw it was Bells' introductory beer into the Texas market. It's a beautiful copper color, slightly hazy, light tan head. The aromas are slightly astringent citrus and tropical fruits.

The taste is very dry and astringent, with the citrus flavors providing some body. Glad to try this and VERY glad Bells is now in Texas.
