Had this on tap with another friend. Love regular Two Hearted, but this one is very light. We both agreed that there is no way we would purchase this over all day IPA.

I had no idea what to expect here so saying those expectations were met/exceeded would be a lie. a few little lies aren't so bad though. came out a lighter shade of orange/honey, pretty clear and a big ol frothy white head. beautiful lacing stuck onto the glass. nose was quite on the money with this just being baby two hearted, lots of grapefruit, lemon peel and semi-sweet maltiness. sort of subtle but still pops, there's no big surprises here, just a solid and welcoming aroma. going in for a sip, it's immediately light in the flavor department, vanishing from the palate rather quickly. Grapefruit, lemon peel, a bit of pine and a big smack of cracker/bread malts with a touch of caramel or honey, all following through one another and then leaving you with nothing but a very distant lingering spice/bitterness. Very crisp, very refreshing and obviously light while still being quite flavorful. mostly hope to find these fresh here come swimming season because they'd make a great beer for that.

On tap. Poured a pale, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of citrus, pine and toasted caramel. Sweet caramel with a mild bitter taste.

Association with Two Hearted may be bringing this beer down score-wise, but at the same time I might not have bought it otherwise. It would be almost impossible task to even get half of the way to the greatness of Two Hearted, and Light Hearted doesn't do it, but that doesn't mean it isn't a solid low-cal low-ABV IPA option.

The aroma is promising, a little pine-y, a little citrus-y, you could even smell the malt in there. The flavor follows the aroma well, but then the whole thing drops into watery lightness. The flavor starts to feel like a façade after a while. It's not Bell's fault though, I think that's pretty inevitable with a beer this toned down.

Overall, this rests somewhere towards the top of the session IPA pack, but I wouldn't put it in the top 10. It's good, but I likely wouldn't get it again unless it came in 12 packs at a lower price point.

Surprised to see this at my neighborhood bottle shop and had to give it a go as Two Hearted is a Top 5 beer in my house. Also package date 1/27/20 excited me. Initial look (pale yellow) and faint hop smell started to bring me down to earth and lower my expectations. But a robust head and excellent hop flavor (Centennial!) perked things right back up. As would be expected, mouthfeel was thin (suitable for pounding). I don't drink a lot of session IPA's, but I would give this one an edge over what I have had in the category. Could be real good as an early day lunch accompaniment or hair of the puppy.

Wow. I mean, wowie! I’m kinda into this one more than i thought I would be. It actually brings it like a spirting woman on pay day. Like, I’m here to give it to you, so you better be ready! I expected zero aroma, but there actually was some there! Light and citrusy, ya got it? Then on the palate is gentle, yet lovely delicate hops like a smurf on a trampoline. Let’s do this!

Way better than I expected! Get it!

Light at heart but taking their task quite seriously, how would Bell's go about making a Two Hearted Ale inspired, lo-cal, sessionable version of their famous original IPA without sacrificing its greatness.

Pale and light chrome in its pour, the racy, frothy Light Hearted Ale teases the nose with a hoppy perfume that circulate around dried citrus peels, fresh spruce and a pleasant grassy earthiness. A dry caramel and honey flavor layers upon the tongue with a brisk palate sensation of graham cracker.

Toasty, nutty and light throughout, the beer's malt influence is short and mild before turning over the more hop forward flavors on the middle palate. Grapefruit, orange and light mango come to mind as the light bodied beer races across the tastebuds, paving the way for a bitterness of pine resins, citrus peels and herbal grassiness to decorate the late palate.

Light and effervescent, the bubbly beer highlights the beer's aromatic hops and lightens its body and taste. Build for refreshment over flavor, this lighter version of Two Hearted is a tasty IPA option for those wanting less intensity, but as for its taste, it's a shell of what its former self.

Poured from 12-ounce can into a stemless wine glass. Body is a golden amber color, with a thick soap-sudsy eggshell-colored white head and never-ending clouds of carbonation rising like a fountain from the bottom of the glass. In terms of aroma and flavor, this is exactly what I hoped it would be: piney, citrusy, and bitter, with a light caramel malt backbone that provides a canvas without getting in the way. Great carbonation, light body, and a crisp and dry finish round out the profile. This is an excellent pale ale, packing a great hop kick without a lot of the calories and alcohol. Highly recommended.

L - Golden with 1 full finger of head and tons of sticky lace

S - Floral hops dominate

T - Malty and bitter. Lots of centennial hops.

F - Medium body and well carbonated

O - Fantastic for a session IPA. One of the best I have had. Truly is a light 2 Hearted.

A fine beer in cool retro designed cans in the perfect format. Clear, one and half finger white head, good retention. Pine, citrus, bready malt, crisp resin all the way through, without any holes or gaps in the taste. Medium lighter bodied, full flavored, easy to drink, but plenty of hop resin to remind you that this is an IPA. In some ways, it drinks like a pale ale except the hops are a bit more forward and the body remains adequate.

I’m amazed at the amount of flavor and body packed in this 3.7% ABV beer. Nice golden yellow color with a white head, there’s citrus and pine notes on the nose, and they’re also present on the taste, with a bit of malt as well.

Henceforth, this will be my fridge beer/summer lawnmower beer. Very well done by one of my favorite breweries.
