Bottled sample via oakbluff. Orange in colour with moderate carbonation. Surprisingly American C-hop forward on the nose, with notes of citrus and pine along with some smooth vanilla caramel malts in there too. Some odd flavors going on that are hard to pin down. There's definitely a green wood note, along with some odd floral and confectioner's sugar elements. Some moderate malt character provides some stability, but the palate just seems muddled to me. Clean finishing. Not really the Scotch ale or X-mas seasonal that you' d expect, but still fairly drinkable.

Pouring aggressively gets me a finger of yellowy head. The body holds a lot of sediment. I love unfiltered beer :) It's color is approximately that of apple cider. Little bit of froth sits up top, lacing tries to cling to side of the glass but other than the ring at the top, most of it slides back down.

I smell malt, apricot and spices.

Slightly sweet malt and not-at-all sweet apricot immediately greet the tongue. Hop flavor on the back end is mild, vaguely pine and weak grapefruit.

Very mild beer. Medium bodied. Dry finish. Doesn't really coat the mouth. Doesn't make a big deal of itself.

Poured a nice amber color with a bit of haze and a nice head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma is that of sweet malts, spices and an undertone of citrus. Tasted of spice, citrus and sweet malts. Very well balanced and a good seasonal ale. Could have been stronger in the spice for my taste, but still decent.

Mouthfeel was medium with good carbonation. A very drinkable brew that I try every time it comes around in the seasonal selection.

Ho ho ho.

A really massive head on this one, untamed and ridiculously huge, off-white in color. The beer itself is a cloudy brown amber.

Spicy, sweet aroma, with nutmeg and cinnamon.

The flavor begins a bit bitter, but melds into a creamy malt, with a nutty, almond and walnut taste. Finishes sweet and malty.

Creamy mouthfeel with a great level of carbonation.

Could I drink this by the yule log? Yep. Could I drink it at Christmas dinner? Sure. It is balanced enough yet completely underwhelming? Oh yeah. That is a bit of an endorsement.
