BEER INFO

Brewed by:
Bell's Brewery, Inc.
Michigan, United States

Style: American Amber / Red Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.50%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Substantial amounts of late-kettle hop additions and dry-hopping yields a heady blend of fruity aromas of pineapple, peach and citrus. Those aromas continue into a crisply bitter hop presence across the tongue, but the judicious use of toasted and caramel specialty malts prevents the hop intensity from overwhelming the palate.

Locally sourced Michigan honey creates a smooth, dry finish that pulls everything together.

The India Red Ale style is a variation on the IPA, but with more caramel and toasted malt character and a reddish hue.

Roundhouse was first brewed at our original brewery in downtown Kalamazoo in 2009.

Pours into a nonic a rich amber with a full one finger light tannish colored head atop.Juicy grapefruit stands out most to me in the nose with an underlying floral element as well, surprisingly not much of a malt presence to be found.Much dryer than expected on the palate as well, sharp citric notes as well some pine resin, the malt base is more nutty but with some caramel giving off mild sweetness, then more of a dry spicy kick to finish it out.I really like a hopped up red and Bell's delivers the goods here, great job!

Pours clear, amber in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is pine resin, toffee, and a touch of honey as the beer warms. Medium bodied, bitter, and medium-high carbonation. One of the more bitter Bells beers I have had. Solid red ale. Nothing that screams out to me that I need to get this again, but it is solid.

Pours a clear, dark copper colour. Smells like tropical fruits, sweet malts, citrus hops, cereal grains, and heavy. Tastes like red, sweet, cereal malts body throughout the beer; has a bitter finish, grapefruit pithy-ness, passion fruit, and floral notes at the end.

Amber colored with an inch and a half of dense and creamy brown foam. I smell piney hops and caramel malt. The taste is surprisingly caramel to nutty in taste with a very deeply bitter piney hop finish. The mouth is very sticky and lightly chewy.
