On tap at the Eccentric Cafe.

Ruby stained brown body. Fairly clear, no haze or sediment noticed. Scant malted milk colored head sits atop momentarily. The head soon recedes leaving a slight ring around the top.

Pulpy raspberry and slight acetic bite greets the nose up front. The raspberry comes out a bit more with warmth. Subtle brown breadiness can be noticed but it takes some digging. Oak aroma is soft and lingers throughout.

Very tart but not puckering. Tart raspberry flavor with slight sweetness. An appropriate amount of acetic vinegar is noted just beneath the raspberries. A lemon like sourness lingers on the back. Warm bready base barely detectable. Brett flavors nearly drown out by the bugs.

Light to medium bodied beer. Prickly texture on the tongue, the beer is well carbonated. Dry finish. Lingering lemon soaked raspberry flavor.

Great variation on Wild One. The raspberries enhance the tart flavor. Very enjoyable and quite easy to drink. One of my favorite Cafe exclusives.

I love the raspberry flavor with a little oaky after taste! It looked like a pretty dark red. I would definitely recommend this beer.

on-tap, maduro, 2 pours

appearance: served in a pint and also an awesome bells tulip - garnet body, light beige head, good clarity

smell: tart, oak, fresh raspberry, funk

taste: This was good stuff and it's no wonder the keg kicked quite quickly - funky tartness throughout, great pulpy raspberry presence, oak, bread

mouthfeel : good carbonation, nice puckering tartness

overall: very strong variation on the Wild One

On tap at Hunahpu Day. Served in a wine glass.

Appearance - Dark red and brown body. Small white head.

Smell - Strong raspberry. Oak. Some sweet maltiness and a lot of acidity.

Taste - Very nice. Strong sour raspberry. A balancing caramel malt sweetness. Oaky finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. Moderate sourness.

Overall - Excellent. Well made. Glad I got to try this.

Had this on tap at Savor NYC this past weekend. Pours a maroon color, little to no head on this. Has a strong smell of raspberry. Taste was surprising tart. I had this following Founders Rubaeus to compare the two and I was surprised by how much more tart this one was.

It was still a very enjoyable beer to drink, would definitely have it again, but probably will not get my chance living in nyc.
