Very Good
Amber AleAmber Ale
Notes: The beer that helped build our brewery; Bell’s Amber Ale features both toasted and sweet caramel notes from carefully selected malts, balanced with herbal and citrus hop aromas. Capped by a clean bitterness, it’s incredibly versatile with food, but very tasty on its own.

Pours a classic red ale, a coppery, caramel colour. Flecks of yeast and unfiltered goodness stay suspended in my glass. Toasted caramel malt and gentle sweetness and a light bitterness on the nose, it follows tightly on the palate but the floral essence of the hops shine through. The malty notes are just right and the taste is subtle but very clean. It’s mildly restrained character make this an amber that is easily drinkable in these late summer days with any lager. Some of the heavier, maltier reds out there are much more complex but aren’t as crisp and refreshing when it hits 40/105F with the humidex. Pretty good beer!

Nucleated Pilsner

Look: Perfect Amber, caramel with red color. Off-white head, one finger in height. Quickly dissipates into a small ring and wisps.

Smell: Malty on the nose, with hints of caramel and vanilla. Toasty too.

Taste: Sweet first, developing into toasted malts, and caramel. Finishes with more malt and hoppy bitterness.

Feel: Gently carbonated, Smooth and has a velvet like texture in the mouth.

Overall: Its alright, not my favorite amber ale but its not terrible.

This is a really nice Amber. It’s got a complex taste for an ale, but not too much. Very drinkable. Good deep summer beer.

It’s ur run of the mill amber ale but damn it’s so good. It’s not good or great but solid. Sometimes when you’re too adventurous you need a reminder of what solid feels like. This does that for you. Enjoy responsibly bc I sure as heck didn’t .

Look: Orange on top, golden brown in the middle. Might be the best part of this beer, and that's not saying a lot.

smell: Wet cardboard, a bit skunked. okay, some nice grains too.

taste: Sourdough grains come through more. Graham cracker. Rye.

feel: Quite lively, light. Maybe the mouthfeel is the best part actually? Very carbonated in an enjoyable way.

Overall: Truly nothing special, but I will say it is a good representation of the style, if an entirely boring and predictable one. I do actually find it growing on me despite myself, but I'd never order one if there was something more interesting on tap. Honestly I might prefer a Yeungling.

Bottled 9/13/21; drank 11/25/21 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy red/orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big eggshell head; nice lace.

Roasted corn, caramel, mild raspberry & faint black pepper notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Wheat, caramel & mild raspberry flavors up front; roasted corn & a faint hop bite on the finish.

Mild, but not dull; a nice amber ale.
