Brewed by:
Bell's Brewery, Inc.
Michigan, United States

Style: American Amber / Red Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.80%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Amber Ale deftly balances a mixture of toasted grain & light caramel notes with a range of floral, citrus and herbal hop notes, capped by a clean bitterness. This balance of flavors makes Amber Ale quite versatile as a food pairing option, not to mention being rather tasty in its own right. Whether serving as a jumping point to other styles or as a familiar standby, Amber Ale is central to the Bell’s portfolio.

look: 3.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Appearance: reddish orange color. hazy but not quite opaque, a little bit less than a finger of an off white head. leaves a lacing around the edges

Smell: malt forward. caramel and crystal mostly some toastiness. some citrus to herbal hop but fairly subdued.

Taste: opens up with sweet and caramel tastes rounded out by a toasty malts. backend has a bit of hop flavors including citrus and some slight herbal

Mouthfeel: fairly light and drinkable, good balance between the sweet and bitter as neither lingers too long

Overall: a good classic interpretation of an american amber ale. well brewed and well rounded.

Really like the nature scene painting on the bottle, puts me in the mood. Poured in a pint glass.

A: Pours a cloudy, rich honey brown color, with a short off-white head that's present throughout the entire time, with some good lacing.

S: Smells, grainy, like wheat, malts as well, grainy, fairly light smell, need to sniff a bit, some citrus as well, little bit of hop bitter after taste, but not that much.

T: Relatively sweet, tastes like bread, wheat, grainy, as i would expect

M: its light, refreshing, crisp, pretty smooth, medium carbonation, not over done.

O: It's an excellent beer, great for sessions, easy-going, good balance of everything, most excellent. Recommended.
