Pretty straightforward witbier. Hats off to Bells for going against the grain in the winter with this seasonal. It's a nice change of pace in a time of pumpkin ales and spice bombs.

Bell's Winter White Ale has a thick, creamy, off-white head, an opaque, orange-gold appearance, and the beer gets a descending gray-yellow cloud, following the "swish & pour". Aroma is of spice, white wheat bread, coriander, clove, a touch of citrus, and, perhaps, banana peel. Taste is of all that, with some touch of black pepper and lots of sugar. Mouthfeel is lower medium, and Bell's Winter White Ale finishes medium dry.

This beer is orangish gold with citrus flavor. A perfect Belgium whip, goes well with an orange. Tastes good in a wheat glass or out of the bottle. Creamy head and sparkling crisp flavor. Perfect beer to have at the end of the winter nearing spring when the snow is melting and you're tired of all the stouts, porters, and high abv beers.

Very hazy golden blonde ale in appearance. Looks extremely appetizing! Light head, thin ring persists minutes after pour. Smells like a good Belgian white but with a bit more banana and vanilla. Very nice aroma! great tasting winter beer! Bells rarely disappoints and this beer is no exception! The vanilla really coming through now. Very Smooth and Very light! Medium mouthfeel, but quite light in the finish but very fulfilling! A fantastic winter beer and a great alternative to your typical darks this season. Recommend!

This is my change of pace lighter ale for the holiday period for when the food gets heavy and the going gets long. An easy sipper, which has just enough yeasty notes to keep things interesting. Light bodied with a few peppery sides to it, this makes a solid choice when the heavier winter warmers are weighing you down.

12 oz. bottle - Packaged 10/07/15:

Pours hazed golden. A thin white head leaves lacing.

The smell is of orange, pineapple, clove, wheat tang.

The taste is of orange, pineapple, clove, wheat tang. Crisp finish.

A different twist on a witbier, yet it still fits the style. An interesting brew. Not sure where the "winter" part fits in.

16oz tallboy with a freshness date. Sample from the brewery.

Cloudy and heady. Yeast, grain, spice, & bread in the nose. Ample crispness leads to a deep smoothness. Peppery, clove spiciness, rind-like, coconut water, nutty yeast, pineapple, dusty biscuits, & faint medicinal notes in the aroma and palate.

Damn cool, fermented with Belgian yeast ... no spices used so this is sort of a pale lighter Belgian winter warmer and not a Witbier at all in a sense but it is none the less.

The first beer I have ever had from bells that was a let down, and honestly one of the few that wasn't amazing. This pours thick and murky tired yellow with basically no head from the tap. It's got a ton of viscosity and minimal carbonation, the opposite of what I look for in the style. Banana yeast and spice and orange esters in the nose, some citrus to the taste, but way too much grain here, especially the wheat. It lacks all the delicate features of the best wits, and warms up ugly. I'm surprised this came from bells. It's not a bad beer, but it's nowhere near their full potential. I see the winter side of it, and appreciate the attempt, but I just doesn't pan put here...

edit: i like it better from the bottle, more spice, some vanilla sweetness which is interesting and thematically appropriate, and there is a nice citrus pop and better carbonation. must have come through a dirty line or something when i first had it, but i fell compelled to raise a few scores, as this is better than i remember it from that tap.

Where did all that head run off too? Seems under-carbonated. Banana, pineapple, funky yeast on the nose but none of that in the flavor. Crisp and clean to a fault. Not offensive, but wont cop again.

Appearance - milky yellowish gold with a very short-lived head, no lace. Not much happening here.

Aroma - plain and grainy at first, then some banana and yeast emerge, picking up the nose significantly. Settles to a light banana smell.

Taste - standard grainy flavor followed by banana and yeastiness. There is a little hop balance on the tail end, too. Aftertaste develops clove and allspice notes at times, pretty tasty.

Mouthfeel - above average carbonation, helps to highlight some of the spiciness in the flavor. Slightly full feeling in the mouth.

Drinkability - a tasty wheat beer from Bell's, I could recommend it as above average.

Pours a cloudy golden with a decent white head and no lacing. Smell is nice- classic wit beer with banana, clove, and bubblegum aromas along with a hint of spice. Taste is a little restrained, doesn't really wow me. Some nice bubblrgum flavors on the finish are especially noticeable as well as hints of clove, maybe some coriander and a slight hint of bitterness that runs through the taste. Mouthfeel is smooth but a little thin. Could use a little more body and carbonation. Fairly nice, but not my first choice.

A: bright yellow color with a thick white foam head that quickly dissipates. little to no lacing.

S: Malt hits you first, followed by banana and a slight hint of nuts

T: A combination of banana and nuts. the after taste is nutty, but not offending.

M: Very light and crisp.

D: Very easy to drink. Mine was gone before I knew it. Nothing to really rave about, but good none the less.

And now for something completely different... a witbier in winter. I congratulate Bell's for going against the norm and brewing something that's typically expected in summer as a winter offering. I suppose with all the great stouts that Bell's makes creating something light as a winter offering makes sense to them as far as being something out of the ordinary. But the Winter White could easily be enjoyed any time of the year. This is an easy drinking wit (as most are). Less spicier it seems that others of its kind.

It pours a cloudy pale lemony yellow with virtually no head. Aroma consists of corriander, banana and a little bit of vanilla. Medium-to-full-bodied mouthfeel with a crisp carbonation. The initial taste consist of wheat malt, corriander and some vanilla sweetness. Some lemony bitterness towards the back finishes things off.

Drizzam is the man!

A - Cloudy, pale orange body with a head at about three quarters of an inch and eggshell in color. The head has some okay stamina as it gently fades.

S - Pungent clove and a hint of bananas.

T - Subtle spice accenting a bitter wheat flavor. There's a fruitiness to it that's mild and becoming.

M - Ever-so-slight coarseness to the texture with a chilly finish. This brew goes back very easily.

~ This is a great beer. I recommend this brew to everyone looking for a sessionable winter style brew. It has very good aroma character that's backed up with an even better feel and collage of flavors. Give this one a try, you won't regret it.

Poured into a pint glass from a bottle. Pours cloudy orange yellow with a tiny white head. Smells of orange peel and wheat, very slight banana. Tastes of wheat with slight citrus, especially orange peel. Beer is light bodied and very drinkable, good carbonation. Overall an above average beer.

Reviewed cold from a bottle to a glass

A - Hazy yellow color, thin foam, decent lacing ring, llots of carbonation

S - Malty, citrusy, not a lot of hops here

T - Has a sweetness (almost citrus sweetness) that does not agree with me. It is as if whatever was used to flavor the beer has taken over the malt and hops finish that I expect.

M - Very light beer.

D - I expected something heavier or creamier because of the Winter in the name. I would not buy this again.

12oz into a tulip.

A: Pours a slighly darker than normal orange with a nice white head.

S: Aroma brings bright citrus, coriander, floral, honey, cloves.

T: Taste brings soft, cakey pale malt, nectarine, cloves, bready wheat.

M: Between light and medium-bodied with moderate carbonation.

O: A nice witbier, certainly better than some others on the market.
