Great rotating music every weekend. Great place for a social party with spouses and friends. Inside can accommodates a smaller event BUT outside tent rental is the a great deal for LARGE parties. They now serve a variety of food on premises that can rival all others in the area. Along with Sergio's great lineup of rotating beers it is the great atmosphere of an old Chuck's Steakhouse venue. Come enjoy.

I arrived at the brewery on a mid-winter weekday afternoon, after the lunch hour and before the after-work & dinner crowd. I basically had it to myself, as there was just one couple in the place. The brew pub is in a comfortable old barn, which had been a dairy barn many years ago, and was converted to a Chuck's Steakhouse (a popular CT chain) in the late 60's or early '70's. The brewery took over the space around 2012. The interior reminds me of other Chuck's I had been in over the years, warm wood tones and comfortable booths, with a great fireplace in the center. It was cold enough that day for me to want to plant myself right next to the fire, which was crackling with warmth.

There were 10 beers on the menu, and I ordered a flight of 4 IPAs ($10 per flight of 4) to start. All were very good to excellent, with the Big Red Hoppy Barn really standing out. While sipping the IPAs I ordered a bowl of chili. It arrived promptly, and was also very good - Texas style, mostly meat. After that I ordered a more eclectic variety in my next flight - 2 stouts, both very interesting, one with chocolate & sea salt, one with cold-brewed coffee, vanilla beans and chocolate; a seasonal winter warmer called Snowy Silo, flavored with cinnamon and cranberries (loved this one); and a Belgian Ale, aged on peaches in a chardonnay barrel. A bit unusual, almost a sour, but not. I liked it for it's uniqueness, but it would not be an everyday beer for me.

I picked up a 4 pack of each of the other 2 beers I had not tried at the taproom. One is Farmhouse saison with orange peels; the other is English style ale called Big Red Barn, perhaps their most popular beer as it is the most reviewed. I hope to indulge in these this week, All the beers served at the taproom are available in 4 packs of 16 oz tallboy cans, equivalent to a growler in volume. They also fill growlers as well.

There is live music offered on several nights. I would love to come back some evening to check it out. There are also brewery tours. I definitely plan to return to when the place would be more lively than a late afternoon on a winter weekday.

My wife and I were up in this area for an Autism walk and on our way back to Springfield we decided to stop on a whim. Old barn converted into brew pub. New England country vibe. Real low key...get some wings with the boys / lazy Sunday type of joint. They have a home brew supply shop with an gal who seemed pretty knowledgeable. Just getting into home brewing, so I liked poking around. The restaurant was quiet but picked up as it came to dinner time. Some outdoor seating, but as the sun was going down we opted to stay inside. We hung for 3 hours or so and enjoyed our meal and beers. Older gentlemen was greeting guest and checking on us. Food was ok...beer was ok too. Would stop in if in the area again.

Stopped here the other day, as they finally opened. It is located in the old Chuck’s Steakhouse building. They did a good job by utilizing the old Chuck’s decor: it still has the look and feel of an old rustic barn. Tried quite a few of the beers, and they all were decent. There is food available, but it is limited. We didn’t try any on our visit.

The ambiance of this place is very welcoming. A large fireplace sits in the room casting warmth about. I wish I could say the same about the beer, but you need to go and check it out just the same.

Large red barn and equally large parking lot with a view of the hopyard. Entry on right side lead through short foyer into a timber post and beam framed dining/ bar area that has the feel of a rustic country lodge. Bar is on the right and seat about 12 with additional table seating about the room. 10 assorted beers on tap, I particularly like their stout. Very personable bartender who seems always up for a little tour and update on the brewery's future plans. Menu is typical pub grub, tasty and reasonably priced. Great place to have lunch and a beer or two.
