Full disclosure, I drank this well past it’s “best before “ date. It pours a hazy, cloudy amber with a solid off white head that sticks around for ages. Taste is more Belgian than IPA, which suits me fine, but a bit too carbonated and boozy tasting for my liking. Still pretty enjoyable, though.

From the 2017 advent calendar. I quite liked this. A refreshing and tasty offering that is one of the few in the calendar that I would "buy again". But this one rates.

From the Advent calendar 2017. Other than the spelling (Alien Klaw) this looks to be "unretired".
This was a pleasant change up; not nearly as sweet as the previous calendar offerings.
Good bitterness, nice carbonation level, and a Belgian-like yeast profile.
This ranks quite highly amongst the rest, thus far.

330ml bottle, day 5 of the 2017 Craft BeerAdvent Calendar. Actually spelled 'Alien Klaw' on my label.

This beer pours a hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with a teeming tower of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat fizzy off-white head, which leaves some loosely spattered and sudsy islet lace around the glass as it slowly sinks away.

It smells of bready and crackery pale malt, fresh domestic citrus peel, a subtle earthy yeastiness, some flinty chalk, and more leafy, floral, and piney green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy pale malt, a lesser caramel sweetness, orange, lemon, and white grapefruit citrus rind, still understated yeasty notes, a gentle minerality, and some edgy leafy, weedy, and piney verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly low-key in its workaday frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with a wee airy creaminess creeping in as things warm up a tad around here. It finishes off-dry, the malt and mixed hoppy esters glad handing us on the way out the door.

Overall - this is certainly one of the better examples of this typically unnecessary style that I have come across, essentially because it is robustly hopped, and the Belgian yeast keeps to the shadows. Very tasty, in the sense that I actually wouldn't mind another one of these right now - somebody take my temperature!

Clear golden colour, small head with short retention, not much lace. Aroma of tropical fruits, resins, banana, apricots.
Medium to full body, creamy palate, average carbonation.
Taste of resins, tropical fruits, banana, caramel. Dry finish. Good.

From elcervecero. In Teku glass. Playing Goodbye Deponia. From elcervecero. Another masterpiece from Naparbier. Highly bitter, aromatic and delicious. Take care because it hits hard in the head. Avg 4.77

10 May 2017. New label. From decervecitas. In Teku glass. Watching Somos Gente Honrada. Very herbal and dry, too much dry for my liking.Belgian profile with the sugary replaced with herbal bitterness.Much below what I remembered

Hazy gold colour, sweet white grape aroma and slightly tart. Strange taste, hard to identify. A little sweet at first, a hint of yeast followed by a hint of tart and closed with a bitterish, slightly earthy hop flavor.

Hazy golden yellow pour with a very nice white head that gives way to a thin lacing. The smell is incredible - pineapple, papaya and passion fruit all the way, with a feint trace of Belgian yeast in the background. The taste is not as sweet as the aroma would suggest, however it's a nice balance between bitter hops and sweet tropical fruit. Medium body with nice carbonation and a bitter after-taste. Great stuff form Naparbier.
