Pours a hazy golden color with a one inch white head that left no lacing. Smells and tastes of orange, banana, sweet malts and spices. Well carbonated, light bodied and crisp. Good, not great.

Off the tap this beer had a medium white head and some serious turbidity, boding well for someone who loves a dirty saison. I got to St. Feuilien's Saison last on a flight of four and by that time it had settled significantly with the bottom 60% of the glass notably more opaque than the top beer. I wasn't mad about it, but it was a distinct characteristic for such a short time spent settling.

The ride started with ripe banana and finished with underripe banana (increased bitterness) and some vanilla smoke. I was reminded of a recently emptied box raisins when I smelled this beer, I thought that was pretty unique. An interesting show of Belgian terrior in a kick ass traditional saison.

Pours golden amber, lots of sediment, and a white soapy head that dissipates into a thin ring. No lace. Smells of soap, slightly tart, and very grassy. Taste follows with a mild biscuity sweetness. Feel is light and balanced with a hint of spicy bitterness. Overall, this is a great Saison, but prefer others easily available. Cheers!

Poured from a 330mL bottle into a snifter.
L- A brilliant hazy orange with a nutty hue. Excellent carbonation and a thick, white head that does not dissipate.
S- Orange, lemon, banana, vanilla, garlic, spice, pine, cinnamon.
T- Strong fruit flavor upfront of banana, orange, lemon, and even kiwi. This accompanied by the tastes of toasted nuts, hearty bread, and a nice smoky bacon. Very balanced flavor although I would like some more hop bitterness on the finish.
F- Medium bodied with a nice carbonation that works in tandem with the spice to tease your palate.
O- This is a great example of a well-balanced saison but it could use a tad more bitterness.

330ml bottle - again, what the fuck are reps thinking, bringing a Saison into market in the dead of winter? Oh, that's right, they aren't (thinking, that is).

This beer pours a hazy, medium golden amber colour, with a veritably teeming tower of puffy, finely foamy, and vaguely creamy off-white head, which leaves a bit of streaky and arching cirrus cloud lace around the glass as it genially recedes.

It smells of gritty and grainy pale malt, a lesser edgy wheatiness, subtly phenolic Belgian yeast, a muddled light orchard fruitiness, ephemeral anise notes, white and black peppercorn, and some mild grassy, earthy, and herbal hoppiness. The taste is bready and doughy pale malt, wet wheaten breakfast cereal, a benign Low Countries yeastiness, still hard to get a handle on domestic and tropical fruity notes, tame candi sugar, and more understated floral and grassy noble hops.

The carbonation is quite laid-back in its come-hither frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with a nice airy creaminess evolving as things warm up a tad around here. It finishes off-dry, the base malt continuing to swat at the lingering yeasty, spicy, and fruity measures.

Overall, this is a rather pleasant and approachable version of the style, as it is not too yeasty nor astringent (my typical starting bitching points). No sign of the upticked ABV either, which makes for an agreeable - once past the opening bubbly theatrics - drinking experience.

Pours hazy amber gold orange with a creamy frothy white foam head. Smells like sweet nutty toasted caramel malts, mild banana, clove, peppercorn spice, tart lemon, orange citrus, some funky hay, apple, pear, apricot, with floral earthy grass and herbal pine. Very pleasant ale to have mid-day with a thin-crust pizza.
Nice-looking in a glass. Earthy, yeasty in the nose. Full taste, then cleanses the palate.
