Poured from 11.2oz bottle into Westvleteren chalice.

L - Hazy gold pour with a creamy white head.

S - Green apple, mango/pineapple, candy sugar, must. Mouth-watering.

T - Light cider, white fruits, grape must, candy sugar. Juicy start, dry finish with a slight astringency.

F - Crisp, light carbonation, easy on the palate.

A complex, but not overpowering beer. Very refreshing, a well refined blonde.

Purchased this one in a store close by. Poured into her proper Chalice and it was a bit of a disappointment. It's nowhere for the style close to Delirium, chouffe or Duvel. Good, not great. Much less world-class.

330ml squat bottle - the rep seems to be doling out this brewery's offerings around here at a very measured pace.

This beer pours a mostly clear, medium golden yellow colour, with a teeming tower of glass-hogging puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy eggshell white head, which leaves some layered cirrus cloud form lace around the glass as it very lazily recedes.

It smells of bready and doughy pale malt, mixed melon-forward tropical fruit, some plainer domestic citrus and apple, subtle earthy black pepper and coriander spice, mild estery alcohol, and a gentle leafy, herbal, and musty hop bitterness. The taste is gritty and grainy pale malt, a touch of sweeter caramel, a cabal of apple, orange, pineapple, and muddled melon fruitiness, low-key white pepper and coriander, a touch of edgy yeast, and still quite understated herbal, grassy, and certainly perfumed floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is obviously rather robust in its mouth and glass-filling frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and sort of smooth, as the yeast and booze warming take things down a peg or so here. It finishes off-dry, a strong lingering fruitiness really buoying the seemingly ennui-stricken malt.

Overall, a pleasant enough version of the style, nipping at the heels (from a respectable distance, of course) of Duvel, in most of the prescribed metrics. An easy slow sipper, and an appropriate accompaniment as Spring has now wrested back early May from a too early out of the gate Summer, at least in my bailiwick.

Poured into a St. Feuillien glass (that I got as part of a sampler box... a deal I liked.)
This Blonde looked fine and enticingly aromatic in the nose. And the taste ?
Before I get overwhelmed, better listen instead to the master who was not his usual pithy self either...
MJ's "Great Beers of Belgium" called this ale "very aromatic with a fresh, fruity, peachy aroma; a pillowy head; a pinkish-bronze color; a creamy orangey, palate; distinctly hoppy and dry with a hint of juniper in the long finish; an almost gin-like aperitif"
