Wow, how does this not have any actual reviews yet? This is batch #1, been out for a bit. Loving their beers so far, so I hope this keeps stride.

Starts to rise up the neck after I pop the top, then rises up the glass to form a huge 3+ finger head that takes up 2/3 of the goblet glass, but fades back at a fair pace with lots of air pockets and big bubbles, tons of spotty mess lacing, slight hazy semi clear golden tan colored beer.

Nose brings lots of great Belgian saison funk, a huge farmhouse funk that really brings farmhouse and barnyard funk, tons of funk, I wouldn't be surprised if this was Brett but it doesn't say so. It could be that special Nordic farmhouse funk yeast that I can't remember the name that is really crazy horse blanket but not really Brett strain. Nice floral spices, flowery, a little peppery, mild grainy bready doughy notes, grassy, lemony, quite nice.

Taste brings more of the same, a big farmhouse saison, barnyard funk again, not quite the funk level as the nose, but a decent horse blanket funk, again possibly Brett, but if that special saison yeast from Scandinavian farms I'm going to save some of this. Nice grassy flavors, lemony notes, lots of floral spices and a little grainy wheat. Mild doughy malt notes as well, lemongrass, quite dry, with a bit of a creamy feel and nice bitterness. Finish continues the very dry feel, a little toasty grainy wheat note, more floral spices, lemon, and plenty of saison farmhouse funk but no more horseblanket.

Mouth is med bod, lots of fluffy carbonation, little creamy wheat feel.

Overall fantastic! A really funky saison, great yeast profile whether it's Brett or just a great Scandinavian Nordic farmhouse yeast, either way a great yeast funk profile. Nice malt and wheat base, quite tasty and enjoyable. Another big time saison winner from Enlightenment. I really need to meet these guys as I'm really big into the wild saisons!

No bottling date but this is Batch 1. Released about a month ago.

A: Bottle explodes with foam as soon as I crack the cap, always love that. A hazy golden pour and an effervescent one at that. Enormous, towering frothy white head. Top notch head retention and loads of thick, fluffy lacing everywhere. Islands of foam hang around forever.

S: Notable honey right off the bat. Very floral but I can't quite pick it out the specifics. Smells like...flowers. Maybe just a touch wheaty?

T: Again, quick hit of honey and then lots of flowers. Once again I can't really place what kind of flowers (I don't eat flowers...very often). Certainly floral regardless. A little bit of a grassy aspect (I DO eat grass...sometimes), especially in the middle. Hit of bitterness in the finish, surprising (maybe some floral/grassy hops?). Mildly earthy and spicy, I presume from the yeast. Spicy finish and aftertaste.

M: Medium bodied, dry, floral and spicy.

O: An interesting saison. Not sure what nordic-style implies but I assume it must involve flowers. Well balanced and drinkable, however I'm not usually a fan of flowery beers so I have to subtract some points for my bias.
