Cloudy, pale. Looks a bit like a hefeweizen.
Strong tropical fruit notes in the aroma. A bit of citrus, light on pine

Tastes like apricots. A bit of bitterness at the end but smooth up front. My buddy who is not a serious beer drinker was shocked when told there isn't any actual apricots in beer. Very drinkable for 7.4. The brewer calls it a double pale ale and I can see why because its still quite easy drinking.

One of the best IPAs/APAs I've had. I prefer hoppy beers that are tropical instead of piney and this one kills it in that regard. Reminds me a bit of Alpine Nelson which is a world class beer. I hope they make this again.

On tap at the Tip Tap Room.

This is awesome. Tons of tangerine! Clean biscuit malt, orange and tangerine juice, and a lingering, tingling bitterness. This is as good as a Hill or Tree House hoppy offering.

Bottled 6/9/2015.

Appearance: Almost perfectly clear orange-gold. Head is white bordering on bright-white. Starts off thick, creamy, and fluffy, and drops to a thin cap and collar in short order. Persists for the duration. Moderate carbonation on the pour.

Smell: Deeply fruity and super dank. Loaded with tropical fruit and weed. Peaches and tangerines. Malt bill runs ever so slightly sweet. Some caramelized malt sweetness. A vague backing notion of white bread. So much Galaxy. Incredibly floral. Sweet juicy fruit. Warming ups the sweetness a bit and it takes over just a touch.

Taste: Follows the nose almost exactly. Dank and loaded with tropical fruit. Peach, tangerine, and mango. Hints of pineapple. Sweet without being too sweet. Solid pushes of pine needle with a huge floral backbone. Malts offer up some caramelized sweetness with some doughy elements. Slightly herbal as well. Backing dank elements sit long after the sip. Bitter pine needle. A dusting of alcohol on the back.

Mouthfeel: Medium body that runs a touch thick and almost creamy. Moderate to low carbonation. Runs a touch thick.

Overall: A gentleman worth knowing.

All sorts of tropical. I can see the end goal of "NE IPA," but it's not quite there. Solid across the board.

On tap. Pours a. Clear, bright, oily yellow. Good, white head. Light lacing. Aroma definitely starts off with a large showing of Galaxy hops. Galaxy has such a unique aroma. I find that hey smell better than they taste usually...but not by much. Mossy passion fruit. Airy, clementine citrus. Pale, bready malt. The flavor isn't quite as delightful as the nose. It's still a good time! Galaxy hops dominate the flavor but they are a bit reeled in...it's an Imperial Pale Ale. That actually seems to an apt description. A good showing from he malt. All pale and bready. Galaxy gives me that mix of greens and tropical fruits. Chinook hops brig some more traditional flavors. Body is lighter than expected. Softer mouthfeel without a ton of bitterness. Softer carbonation. This was a good beer. A pint that went quickly.

Aroma awakens,
Opposite of coffee,
Velvety citrus holds
An herbal forest,
Aroma reawakens.

A: Very hazy gold (3/3)
S: Piney-marijuana-grapefruit nose with a little passionfruit as well (10/12)
T: Pine mingles with grapefruit to produce something very refreshing. Pretty solid bitter hang, but citrusy and acrid enough to balance it out. (17/20)
M: Very dry finish with a medium body (5/5)
O: A very refreshing pale ale. I’ve totally given up on figuring out the difference between an IPA and a double pale ale, and this guy does not help with that differentiation. To be fair, I’ve never been a big fan of rules, so keep doing your thing, Ben! (8/10)

Very good, big tropical taste. More hop forward than some IPAs

This is an excellent pale ale. A tad maltier than I tend to gravitate to and not quite MO status but close. I would reapectfully disagree this is a top tier pale, but I would be glad to drink it again and see it more regularly in Boston. Best beer I have had yet from Enlightenment.

Technically not an APA at all; labeled as a "Double Pale Ale" at 7.4%. Much closer in style to a hop forward IPA in reality.

Had this on tap at Atwoods and was blown away. Went on a hunt for a few bottles and scored at Redstone liquors. The pour was as good as the original one. Nice color, scent is mild, but the flavor is the right balance of malty, fruity, bitter goodness which opens up as the beer warms up. I hope the 6/9 bottle run isn't the last one!
