Pours an orange-ish hue, off white head. Real pillowy head. Heather-y aroma. Some sweetness from the honey. It has definitely dried out quite a bit. It tastes a bit like a spring meadow smells. A very good saison by Ben and Enlightenment, but certainly not his best either.

750mL standard capped bottle served in a plain stange glass. Beer pours pale yellowish in color, though very cloudy, of course, topped with an ample white head. Aroma is sweet: floral, hay. This promises to be yeasty but very easy to drink. As the saison enters my mouth for the first time I notice the fine, intense carbonation, thin mouthfeel, and then a rush of grassy grains and off-sweet honey. This is honesty exactly what I want a saison to taste like. Rustic and unfiltered, but not sour, not astringent, and quite refined, actually. The touch of honey without adjunct sweetness makes this feel really indulgent. Wild yet tempered yeast flavor, orange, lemongrass, and unmalted wheat.

Enlightenment Ales No 4 Batch #4.
