Notes: Our rich, decadent coffee stout. This one's soft cocoa flavors open up to reveal a richly complex treat. We taste flavors of chocolate cake, "coffee candy", milk chocolate, with heaps of vanilla. A pungent & distinct coffee stout for sure! A rich, sweet, and less roasty base beer contributes the ideal backdrop to this bold and vibrant treat for the coffee and beer lover alike!

The only reason why this doesn't get a perfect 5 is because Good Morning exists and this beer can somehow be improved upon. The smell is out of this world, only can really compare it to a fresh 2013 BCBCS (without the bourbon). This is what a big coffee stout should smell like. incredible smooth taste with balanced sweetness and bitterness. Coffee flavor is still there. Love this beer and lucky enough to live in MA.

Once you've has Good Morning it's hard to try another. But I will say I had this with breakfast (I know crazy) and it was my coffee while on vacation. Do not change a thing.

Poured from a 750mL growler into a Tree House tulip glass. Purchased at the brewery a few days ago.

Pours a deep black, inky body with a 2 finger mocha colored head that reduces within a few minutes, leaving a thin layer of foam. Little lacing.

Aromas in the first 30 minutes are subtle and muted, but once it warms up they start to come out with rich deep roasted coffee, anise, black liquorice, dark fruit, dark chocolate.

Taste is bold and rich - heavy roasted coffee upfront, espresso, followed by dark cocoa, roasty, toasty malt, char, coffee beans, finish is slightly bitter and you guessed it - roasty. Mouthfeel thickens as it warms, becoming rich and full. Low carbonation.

Overall a solid stout - a massive coffee bomb. Seek it out if you're into coffee stouts.

This one pours a black, thick liquid into my tulip glass and leaves a one-finger graham cracker head.

The aroma is mind-blowing. Coffee, cocoa, caramel, and vanilla are all fighting in the glass trying to gain the upper hand. On this pour, the coffee reigns supreme but it was a bloodbath.

The taste is like a beer cappuccino. Coffee dominates the first sip, with the strong chocolate flavor breaking through like the Kool-Aid man through a brick wall. Not detecting too much caramel or vanilla on the taste but the coffee and chocolate have all but decimated my palate.

The mouthfeel is extremely smooth. It drinks like an Imperial stout, but surprises with only a 7.6 ABV. The alcohol is very well hidden.

Overall this is unquestionably one of my favorite stouts. There's not a whole lot going on but what IS going on is absolutely amazing. This is how a coffee stout should be done.

a: super thick matte black color. no light getting through, none reflecting. pours thick - like motor oil. real nice 1/2 finger tan head thats bubbly

s: rich roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee beans, oak, a hint of some sweet malts, then finishes with more chocolate

t: decadently roasted malts, tons of chocolate - a mixture of milk & dark, then followed by a smooth coffee flavor and some sweet sugary malts. there is a touch of roasty bitterness as the beer hits the back of the tongue. the finish has all the flavors packed in there: sweet, chocolate, roast, and some coffee

m: it's a very luxurious mouthfeel. it's heavy and silky with not a lot of carbonation. a bit sticky as well. very nice mouthfeel

o: fantastic beer here. this is a great sipper with smooth and rich flavors. the coffee is not in your face at all, and plays more of a support role than a protagonist. let it get up to temp, sip, and enjoy

Poured from a bottle into a tulip. Huge coffee aroma, roasty, bittersweet chocolate. Excellent, thick mouthfeel which really stood it apart from other coffee stouts. Infinitely better than Single Shot and a world class coffee stout!

A-EBF sample pour. An inky, black color. Very dark, like espresso.

S-Well it both looks and smells like espresso. All about the coffee. One of the most genuine coffee aromas I have come across. This could easily pass for a strong, black coffee in terms of aroma.

T-So much espresso, so much genuine coffee, so much roastiness. Double Shot is a very accurate name. Sweet and bitter dark chocolate and even a bit of nuttiness.

M-Medium bodied and very drinkable. Tiny bubbles. Bitter finish. No booze whatsoever.

O/D-I really loved this beer. A coffee clone. A coffee-beer-lover's wet dream. This one one of the gems at EBF.

Edit: Had a sample at the source and it cemented how delectable this beer is.

Incredible stout. I initially rated it as an imperial stout - was fooled by its depth, complexity, flavors and richness - and then when submitting realized my error and had to change accordingly. Knowing that it was actually a stout made it incredibly impressive. 1/24/20 date printed on can. Pours a thick almost sludgy very dark brown, almost black color that was incredibly opaque. Lots of fluffy tan head and some spotty lingering lacing that settled into small soapy rings. Smells amazing, deep dark roast coffee, dark chocolate fudge, vanilla, caramel, bread, malt, roasted nuts, brown sugar, maybe a little stone fruit. Taste follows the nose, incredible depth and balance, again reminded me of an imperial stout. Definitely not like any regular stout I've had before. Smooth, sticky, luscious mouthfeel that coated the palate, good amount of carbonation. No alcohol burn even as the beer warmed. Fantastic!
