Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.30%

Availability: Limited (brewed once)

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our curiosity continues…. Twelve continues the exploration of different hop combinations, grain blends, and process tweaks to arrive at something that is sometimes planned and sometimes completely surprising. For this blend, we added a healthy dose of Munich to the grist to support massive additions of Amarillo, Warrior, Citra, and Mosaic. Twelve is ridiculously hop saturated, and as it warms it reveals juicy complexities balanced by a pungent dankness. Wholly unique and original... Our curiosity continues...!

This beer is exceptional, one of the best of the curiosity series overall. I have had the pleasure of sampling C-11, C-12 and C-13 together and this is the clear winner. It's Citrus, Clementine smell of hops hits you right away. The color is on the light orange hazy size. Head is nice an foamy but dies back quickly lacing the side of your glass, use a Tulip glass if you have one. Like all Treehouse beers it is super cloudy but this must be the secret to the Treehouse flavor, wheat? flaked oats? what is it???. It's one of the best Treehouse offerings I've ever had, I hope they can turn this is into 1st class citizen and give it a unique name, it's a real winner.

Nice creamy 1/2 finger head fades at a med pace, nice lacing, murky carrot orange color.

Nose lots citrus, dank resin, lots of musty passion fruit, resinous orange peel and big peel, citrus pith, touch Mandarin orange, little creamy malt and orange cream.

Taste brings more orange peel and dank resin, musty as Hell again, some pith, orange peel and orange cream, some Mandarin orange, juicy and little tangy, faint tropical like mango. So dank and resinous. Finish is drier with decent lingering orange peel and little dank resin.

Mouth is med bod nice creamy, decent carb.

Overall decent. Normally this would be phenomenal but we're spoiled now with these amazing beers these days so this is good but not phenomenal. Between Tree House, Hill Farmstead, Wormtown, Trillium, etc, a beer like this that would have been 4.5+ a few years ago, is now just a 4.25. Crazy!

Picked up this two hours ago. Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a wonderful hazy orange golden hue with a thin white head that fades to leave thin wisps and light halo.

S - Aromas of super dank orange peel, light malts, not really fleshy orange, maybe some faint passion fruit. Loads of orange.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, more orange peel, dank resins, faint almost candi oranges, light bitterness. Alcohol is hidden well, lightly creamy. Primarily just an orange bomb. Little fluffy nougat.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, creamy, fluffy.

O - Overall this beer was quite tasty. Really strong orange notes, which dominates this beer. Nice fluffiness, pleasant.
