As the days grow shorter, and the weather changes we decided it was time to brew something for these beautiful Autumn New England days. Traverse pours a dark amber color. She opens with flavors of toasted malts, bread crusts, dark fruits, and and a caramel sweetness complemented by a dry finish. The first of our Autumn lager offerings, Traverse is sure to be the perfect companion for our favorite outdoor New England weather...

Had this twice. Once regular, once on cask. I must say, on cask it was probably one of the best oktoberfestbiers I've ever had. All in all, it's a very good marzen.

Traditional Vienna malt base. Some interesting underlying fruit hop flavors. Very smooth, clean tasting Marzen. Lower carb level. Balanced sweetness. Rich mouthfeel. I wish I had this for Octoberfest. I could put a lot of this away.

Batch #2, 5.5% Marzen version.

The beer comes in a deep reddish color with an off white head.

The aroma offers toasty malts, nuttiness, hints of fruitiness, sliced red grape.

The flavor offers a hint of fruitiness up front, almost like the Juicy Fruit from the hoppy ales of Tree House. Then onto complex toasty malts, brown toasted peasant loaf, more nuttiness, onto a clean lager finish with hints of lingering malt flavor.

L - Dark amber and mostly hazy. A finger of off-white head.

S - Lager yeast, red grape, some pine and caramel.

T - Multi-grain bread, sweet and toasted malts, apple seeds, grape skin

F - Full and not thinned out. Refreshing and a wide flavor palette.

O - One of the better Oktoberfests out there. Full-flavored and easy-drinking.

Thought it was a Marzen before looking it up here, got a 750 bottle fill last weekend - dark amber, little head, little carbonation, but great smell, large taste - good amount of malt with a bit of hops and some spice mixed in, thinner mouthfeel than expected but nice aftertaste. Would buy again!

Another thanks to rudzud for sharing.

Little 1 finger head fades pretty quickly, no real lacing, very dark very slightly clear auburn mahogany brown color.

Nose toasty brown malts, auburn reddish amber malts, touch baking spices somehow, quite fruity, bready yeasty thing, hint spicy fruity hop, faint molasses thing.

Taste more sweet malts, candy like toasty amber and auburn brown, little fruity and almost nutty, molasses like raw earthy molasses, little fruity fig and dried tree fruit, mild bitterness and spicy hop, chewy with mild yeasty bready. Finish weird bitterness, earthy slight metallic, sticky sweet molasses, straw thing.

Mouth is med bod little syrupy, decent carb, not very lager crisp.

Overall not very good, sorry guys, not everything you make is gold, this was fairly meh.
