Notes: We are extremely excited to introduce Single Shot - a beautifully balanced coffee stout made with a special blend of our favorite coffees! It pours super dark in the glass unleashing a fluffy, mocha-like head. We experience flavors and aromas of rich chocolate, cold brewed coffee, and coffee ice cream. Single Shot is exceptionally creamy on the palate while maintaining a lightness that leaves you wanting more. Perfect for a can!

A: Pours a pitch black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: Roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, and a touch of caramel. Very coffee-forward

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the roasted malt and coffee then picks up the dark chocolate, caramel, and even some dark fruit. Finishes with lingering coffee and roast

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A very good coffee stout that is well balanced and easy to drink. Very coffee forward with nice chocolate and fruity notes mixed in. Definitely worth checking out

Much thanks to Sir Cameron for the Xmas gift. Bottom of the can is dated 12-23-15 and also states that the "sh*tter's full!" I'm so glad they replaced that vowel with an asterick, wouldn't want any consenting adults subjected to an unholy cuss word.

A - Tallboy poured to a Tree House glass PAF (proper as fUck). Color is straight-up inky black with a finger of creamy tan head to start. Mostly a thin ring remains by the end along with a few very light patches of a cap. A couple lace bits left behind as well.

S - Smell is quite wonderful, freshly ground coffee beans all the way but nice depth with brown sugar bars and chocolate chip cookies w/ nuts coming to mind. Pretty dessert-centric but a decent bit of roast there.

T - Matches the scent pretty much straight-up with maybe a bit more of the milk stout-base sweetness prevailing. Loads of rich coffee, with flavors of vanilla, cocoa, caramel and nuts bursting from the depths, with just enough roast to balance out the desserty treats.

M - Mouthfeel is seriously impressive and really brings it all together. Super smooth, full-bodied and strong flavors for the ABV without being heavy, great medium-low carbonation, no alcohol presence accentuates the all-out coffee dessert concoction feel. 16oz is no problem solo, though the richness makes it a bit of a sipper.

O - Like Double Shot, it's perhaps a bit one-note with coffee, but it's such great+rich coffee that it brings decent enough depth on its own. And I think I actually prefer this one over the Double: this kind of quality in a light(er) stout package is hard to come by, the potency+flavor never quits, the milk stout base is great and the body really clinches it for me. Self-edited swears or not, this is a wonderful coffee stout.

Had a few cans of this up until now, it seems like a good time to collect some thoughts about another damn fine Tree House brew. The darkness of it is a refreshing change of pace.

A- Tall can into narrow tulip with an oily black body and a thick, foamy mocha tan head. The cap reaches about two fingers in height before starting to descend slowly; good retention. Thick sheets of lace form before I can even sip and rings sticking below that.

S- Instantly reminds me of coffee chocolate chip ice cream, the breweries' description is so on point in this case it's hardly necessary to go much further. Semi-bitter dark chocolate, dark roast espresso, milky sweets and heavily roast barley.

T- I can't help being reminded immediately of mocha and even more specifically affogato, something I very recently delved into. Coffee ice cream, espresso, high quality dark cocoa, deepened caramel and blackened malts play off of each other like a trained jazz group. Never comes off too rich but depth of flavor is intense here.

MF- Medium to thick nature body supporting the dessert flavors but never approaching unbearable or too heavy, remains almost sessionable. Carbonation level is right down the middle leaving the flavors to shine. Dark roasty bitter finish.

Affogato in a tallboy. Espresso mixed with dark chocolate and a silky ice cream note is a combination that will surely never disappoint. The most impressive part about this beer for me is the ability for the body to not be heavy and taxing combined with the fact that the flavors feel decadent throughout the 16oz of beer. Some brewing skills truly at play here.

750ml flip top growler 12/23/15 into a Grrrz teku.

Pours a rich, 1 finger foamy mocha colored head with moderate retention. Beer is pitch black with stringy and spotty with good stick and thin, oily legs. Pretty good.

Nose is outrageously aromatic. Hints of mocha, roasted malt and roasted coffee beans. Like I've stuck my head in a coffee grinder. Excellent.

Opens freshly ground coffee beans. Hints of vanilla, mocha, chocolate and sugar. Some roasted malt tartness floats in the background but is covered by an overwhelming amount of coffee. Rich mocha sweetness with some chocolate, fudge and cocoa powder in the end. Same finish. Really good.

Medium bodied with low carbonation. Slick and smooth in the mouth and goes down rich and silky. Finishes messy and filmy with a slightly lingering aftertaste. Very good.

Not quite Good Morning but for a 6.4% Coffee Milk Stout, the aroma, flavor and body here are unbelievable.
