We are extremely excited to introduce Single Shot - a beautifully balanced coffee stout made with a special blend of our favorite coffees! It pours super dark in the glass unleashing a fluffy, mocha-like head. We experience flavors and aromas of rich chocolate, cold brewed coffee, and coffee ice cream. Single Shot is exceptionally creamy on the palate while maintaining a lightness that leaves you wanting more. Perfect for a can!

Pours an effervescent Mahogany with a finger of mocha colored head. Some head retention & lacing
S: Tons of coffee, some roastyness; great nose!
T: Plenty of coffee, dryness, roastyness & little lactose & woody hop up front, plus a touch of caramel, vanilla & just a kiss of boozeyness. Roasty, some Hazelnut Latte notes, dryness & a little vanilla once warm. Finishes roasty, sweet & a little dry, vanilla & hazelnuts show through
MF: Medium body, creamy carbonation, just a lovely feel to it
Easily one of the best mid ABV range beers of this Coffee Ilk I've had, so drinkable, a lot going on here

Sent my direction by @WunderLlama during NBS BIF #16.
Beautiful pour. Deep clean colour that's juuuuuust barely this side of black. Like obsidian if it had just a tinge of brown to it. Creamy espresso coloured head initially that disappears pretty quick to leave just a faint galaxy swirl and a thin ring around the edge. Minimal lacing.
Nose is a lovely welcoming blend of nutty/woody dark malts, and a swing of roasty espresso.
Flavour is so smoothe with elements of creamy espresso and a bit of evidence from the lactose... the can describes coffee ice cream on the label, and that's an apt descriptor: like high quality coffee ice cream. A hint towards fudgy chocolate and the finish has a tiny blush of coffee-bean bitterness. There's also a bit of spice towards the finish that reminds me of bourbon barrel aging, but this beer doesn't actually know any barrels, so that may just be my brain projecting, since I don't remember the last time I had a coffee beer that WASN'T barrel aged.
Body is reasonably thick and oily... viscous oily, not the bittering oily of an IPA. The carbonation is subtle and evenly coating, and may be part of where that spicy impression I mention above comes from.
Overall this is a phenomenal coffee milk stout. I think it's my favourite brew I've had from Tree House, which is saying something, since as of this BIF I've now had a grip of them! We'll see if that favourite status maintains as I get into the double shot and quad shots this afternoon or if one of them supplants it ;)
Thanks Maynard for sending this my direction!!!

Brew: Tree House Brewing Company – Single Shot
Intro: 16 oz. poured into a tulip glass. Shared with a friend.
Appearance: Dark virtually black color. Moderate head, maybe 1.5 inches. Moderate lacing as we drank
Smell: Sweet aroma of malts, lactose, and coffee in the background.
Taste: Followed along with the smell. First off, you notice the sweetness. Milk and creamy lactose. Coffee shows up but is rather subdued
Mouthfeel: Medium mouthfeel, medium carbonation Creamy. Very nice
Drink: Very easy drinker, easy to go fast but slow down and enjoy.
Conclusion: Very enjoyable for a straight up coffee milk stout. Coffee is not overdone which is a good thing for me. This is the base starter for this line of milk/coffee stouts. Doesn’t have all the additives. It’s a must try for people new to Tree House milk stouts.

Pours dark black. Aroma is dominated by coffee, roasted malts and some chocolate. Taste mirrors nose with intense coffee folliwed by roasted malts and chocolate. Feel is drier than expected and medium.
