Notes: This particular hop exploration combines Galaxy and Amarillo hops to produce a beer that is wholly unique yet distinctively Tree House. Twenty Three pours a beautiful hazy yellow in the glass and produces a fluffy white head. The palate presents with pineapple, tangerine, and grapefruit punctuated by a finish we think tastes like apricots - a truly surprising and delightful result! We are excited to share it with you!

Light, juicy fruits all over. You get the pineapple in the smell, the color is all hazy juice. The taste, to me, is unmistakable cantaloupe. I hate cantaloupe. I love this beer though. Truly a marvel in brewing right here. I 100% hate that Tree House is so far from me, but love it when those kind enough are willing to send it to me.

Fantastic IPA. Fantastic beer.

Look - light orange, hazy. Some people have described this as a hazy yellow. I don't see yellow, although it is a lighter color that what I've seen from other Tree House brews.

Smell - after having several Tree House beers, the first that comes to mind when I sniffed this was "Yup, it's a Tree House!" Their beers smell amazing. This one smells most like pineapple, and is also slightly citrus-y.

Taste - much like the nose, pineapple is up front, followed by some light orange-dankness. Really delicious!

Feel - Nice full body for an IPA. Almost creamy, but not overpowering.

This is another great Tree House brew. Not as perfect as King Julius, but I'm more than happy to have a few of these in my fridge!

Peach color with a great two finger sea foam white head. Smell is of freshly cut fruit and grass. Taste is much like the smell. Mellon, lemongrass, papaya. Feel is on the high end for the style, bright but full.

The beer comes in a medium to deep gold color, a familiar haziness of Tree House.

The aroma hits of huge tropical fruit with pineapple, mango, tangerine, a bit of doughy malt, and a hint of dankness on the end with bright herbaceous qualities.

The flavor hits of that initial attack of mango sorbet, pineapple, fresh orange, tangerine, onto a bit of doughy malt, and then grapefruit peel, hints of pine, and an lingering herbaceous bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium, with a bit of chew to it, but glides wonderfully off of the palate to be crisp and dry.

Reminders of a blend of Green and Alter Ego come to mind.

Taste brings mild creamy malt, fluffy, big hops, creamy orange citrus, big earthy rind and tons of pith, little pineapple tropical, lots of dank resin and earthy notes. Nice bitterness, finish spicy little earthy hops, lingering citrus pineapple.

Mouth is med fluffy carb.

Picked these up the day they were released at the brewery 20 or so days ago. Was supposed to share one with JLindros but he ended up going the growler route at the Good Morning tasting. So...time to crack a can.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip hazy golden orange with a one finger creamy white head that fades to leave a thin blanket.

S - Aromas of citrus, orange juice, light pineapple, light dankness, creamy malt.

T - Taste is similar to the nose. Fair amount of creamy orange citrus. Nice light tropical pineapple notes. Not quite as dank as it was when fresh but still on an assertive level. Rather earthy and spicy hops.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, fluffy mouthfeel typical of Tree House. That being said, as it is drank the feel does get thinner and thinner.

O - Overall this was a solid IPA offering from Tree House. Always a fan when they don't use Mosaic hops primarily in their beer.

Hazy straw color, with moderate white head. Smell is citrus, esp. pineapple. Taste follows, juicy tropical pineapple with bitter hop finish, fluffy light feel but still very creamy, typical of Tree House IPA's. Very nice.

16oz can undated, poured into a Hill Farmstead oversized wine glass. Enjoyed on 12.20.2015, reviewed from Tasting Journal.

The beer pours a very hazy and turbid copper color, hues of apricot with a big, foamy, white head about two fingers high with great retention and lace. Dank, dank, dank aroma, earthy pine, wildflower, leap out of the glass with juicy citrus, apricot, mango and pineapple and doughy malt. The nose really pops here, bursting out of the glass with loads of hoppy goodness. The flavors are nice, heavy on the tropical fruits, pineapple snappiness, mango, peach pits and apricot flesh lead to some citrus, dank pine character with sweet pale grain, doughy like the nose. The flavors are predominantly sweet, with loads of fruit flavor and cereal grains, but there is a strong bitterness that cleans up the finish. The mouthfeel is nice, coating, crisp, smooth with moderate carbonation and a fully body that has a nice creamy finish that has a lightly dry lingering sensation to it.

Verdict: A very IPA from Treehouse that has a wonderful nose that just explodes out of the glass. Really dank, resinous, while definitely fruity and juicy, this has a nice spectrum of hoppy goodness. That said, the flavors ring a bit too sweet, and while there is some nice bitterness to help balance things, it's not enough to balance this one out completely for my palate. Definitely a worthy addition to the Treehouse lineup and very indicative of how well they can craft a hoppy beer.
