Native FiveNative Five
Notes: Native Five is our honey country beer. Brewed with raw unpasteurized woodland honey from wild bees in Zambia. Native Five was fermented with our distinctive local yeast, and then aged for several months in oak. It contains notes of honeysuckle, spicy Brettanomyces character, dried fruits, and molasses. An ethereal mouthfeel with pillowy carbonation leads to dainty, dry finish with delicate lemon acidity. Our Native series beers are naturally conditioned in the bottle, and contain a lively effervescence. Please chill the bottle, open cold, and enjoy as they warm in the glass.

Poured into Tree House Harmony glass.

A: Golden orange and hazy. Not as opaque as Tree House IPAs, but you still can't see through it. Two fingers of fluffy white head.

S: Lemon acidity and honey dominate the nose. The brett isn't up front, but you can smell some funk.

T: Lemon and honey, well balanced with the brett which comes through stronger in the taste than in the nose. The brett brings a bit of spice up front and a decent amount of barnyard funk on the finish. Hints of dried fruits, but I didn't notice molasses as the tasting notes suggest. A nice touch of the oak barrel is also present.

F: Silky smooth. Medium bodied and super easy to drink. Good carbonation.

O: Great honey beer. Well balanced, flavorful, and refreshing.

Bottle at Tree House. Hazy golden body. Smells of lemon acidity, wheat, white wine, honey. Tastes much more of honey. Also white wine, but I know it’s not barreled. Light lemon lime tartness. Crisp. Medium light. Pretty good.
