Sampling a cellar temp bottle poured into my snifter. Picked it up during a visit to the brewery. Ive had in my cellar since purchase, gone contrary to the label requests, sorry. The beer pours jet black with a densely packed fizzy tan head of 3 cm foaming up. THe foams fades to the slimmest of edge layers in a few minutes.
The aroma is roasted malt and coffee notes and dark chocolate. I also get a some brown sugar that sweetens this up, but no booze nor hops showing through on the nose. Definitely a nice imperial stout at this point.
The first sip reveals a silky smooth texture and fine spacious carbonation. The body is medium to slightly thick and each sip does coat my tongue.
Flavor is brown sugar, roasted malt and a lot of coffee and dark chocolate. Again no hops and the booze is very well hidden throughout each sip. This is a very enjoyable double coffee stout, glad I was at TH on the right day for this one.

bottle thanks to rudzud

Light fluffy creamy head fades fairly quickly, some lacing, very dark black

Nose great fresh Kenya coffee, fresh roasted little earthy nutty coffee, little cocoa choc, caramel, coffee fudge and ice cream, biscuity toasted coffee grain, little cocoa dust bakers choc.

Taste smoked malts, roasted malts, tons of fresh coffee, little char nougat, big cocoa milk and dark choc, nougat caramel notes, cocoa, molasses, fresh earthy roasted slight nutty coffee, chewy coffee, little bitterness, earthy roasty, big fresh coffee

Mouth full bod, decent carb, smooth creamy lush, no booze

Overall awesome, coffee was a bit too overpowering at times but otherwise incredible.

An absolutely amazing stout. Had the right feel, smell, and taste behind it. Smooth and silky, with a roasty-chocolate taste was out of this world great. Tree House does some great IPA's, but this stout is my favorite from them so far.

Picked up at the brewery. Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black hue with a thin mocha head that fades to leave light wisps and lacing.

S - Aromas of massive coffee notes, rich and full bodied. Nice light nougat, really pleasant, solid malt roast and light honey sweetness. Really good roast finish.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, really rich deep dark coffee flavour. Nice mocha flavour with good dark chocolate and dry bakers chocolate.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, creamy, fluffy nougat.

O - Overall this was a very solid beer, excellent almost oppressively so. Still, reallt solid stout from tree house.

L - rich black motor oil with a dark tan Coca-Cola-colored looking head. Dual-layered froth, big bubbles on the bottom, thin silk on the top, something I see in every DS, but nowhere else.

S - bittersweet dark chocolate and dark fruits. Cherry metallica and a warm boozey burnt coffee bean flavor. Roasted chocolate.

T - much hotter than previous Double Shots. We're in Tripoe Shot ABV territory! Zesty baker's chocolate and molasses. Spritz of citrus. Cinnamon spice, walnuts, and nutmeg. That might be the honey in the description though. Bold coffee roast with an inkling of regular coffee. Cream and sugar as well as some caramel syrup. Sweet without being cloying due to toasty bitterness keeping the sugar in check.

F - full-bodied with a marshmallowy fluffy creaminess that expands within the mouth. Emphasizes the decadence and the light tingles simply tittilate the tongue.

O - warm and inviting. The high ABV is a boon as it enhances the overall potency and effect. Easy on the hops and bitterness and more focus on a bittersweet decadence. The description aptly calls out "baker's chocolate" and is spot on in that regard. Rich and sweet without going over the top. This would be a great Sunday morning brew to enjoy on a quiet wintry landscape.
