Acquired from a trade for glass, saved for the right day; today. Kept in the fridge to preserve integrity. Poured vigorously into snifter for maximum head build.

Look: Well blended, smooth, no particulate, jet black. Nice foam head at first, but medium dissipation, unable to build foam. Caramel/brown color head. Oil tearing.
Smell: lactose, coffee ice cream, fresh rain, steel.
Taste: Steel/Iron, strong coffee on the primary and secondary, sweet caramel, maple syrup, mrs.buttersworth, vanilla, lactose.
Feel: Citruslike, creamy, smooth, incredibly drinkable. No sense of alcohol. Bitter coffee and smoky aftertaste.
Overall: After sitting in the bottle for over a year, I'm amazed at how this beer has held up. Classic doubleshot and treehouse features, this one was worth the fight to get, glad I waited. Coffee notes may have been a little weaker as it aged, but still incredibly enjoyable.

Pours a pitch black color with a dark brown head, slowly fading down to a thicker ring of lacing.

Smells of oily seeweed and soy sauce enriched coffee with a huge impact of spicy molasses and modest earth. Has a layer of rich dark chocolate to it, together with some caramel and dried wild berries.

Has a smooth and soft mouthfeel with a well developed, sparkly carbonation, resulting in a smooth, lighter bodied beer.

Tastes of molasses covered coffee beans from the very beginning with a subtle toffee sweetness balancing a wooden dryness. Has a slick, almost cloying mouthfeel with scorched malts and balancing caramel. Finishes spicy and earthy at the same time with a calming coffee presence, providing more molasses, rock sugar and smoky bakers chocolate.

Well made coffee stout with a complex coffee infusion, establishing a slick, point on, shorter lasting flavor composition.

Sampling a cellar temp bottle poured into my snifter. Picked it up during a visit to the brewery. Ive had in my cellar since purchase, gone contrary to the label requests, sorry. The beer pours jet black with a densely packed fizzy tan head of 3 cm foaming up. THe foams fades to the slimmest of edge layers in a few minutes.
The aroma is roasted malt and coffee notes and dark chocolate. I also get a some brown sugar that sweetens this up, but no booze nor hops showing through on the nose. Definitely a nice imperial stout at this point.
The first sip reveals a silky smooth texture and fine spacious carbonation. The body is medium to slightly thick and each sip does coat my tongue.
Flavor is brown sugar, roasted malt and a lot of coffee and dark chocolate. Again no hops and the booze is very well hidden throughout each sip. This is a very enjoyable double coffee stout, glad I was at TH on the right day for this one.

An absolutely amazing stout. Had the right feel, smell, and taste behind it. Smooth and silky, with a roasty-chocolate taste was out of this world great. Tree House does some great IPA's, but this stout is my favorite from them so far.
