Poured from a can into a teku glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazy orange juice color with a thick head of white foam. The head has an amazing level of retention, fading slowly over time and leaving a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heavy of a tropical fruit and citrus aroma mainly of tangerine and orange but containing a sizable amount of mango and papaya. Along with these smells comes a strong hop showing of a pine and earthy nature, mixed with a touch of grapefruit as well. Other light grain and floral smells are there as well, rounding out the aroma rather nicely.
Taste – The taste starts out with a bready malt flavor that is matched with some of the fruit that was in the nose. The fruit is mainly of a citrus nature of tangerine and grapefruit, but also has some notes of green grapes, pear, and papaya. Right from the start there is a decent showing of pine and earth, being the dominate hop tastes throughout. As the taste advances on the tongue, the sweet fades a bit, all while the hop increases. With a bit of an increase in the bready tastes, as well as hints of hay and a raw hop coming on at the end, one is left with a nice, moderately malty, but not sweet, more dankly hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is very thick and chewy with a moderate level of carbonation. For the style and the abv, the feel is great and makes for a nice sipper.
Overall - A rather nice IPA. A bit less fruity than most of Tree Houses offerings in this department. A quite enjoyable brew with a more dank nature.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned 12/12/2023 Christmas tree.
Bit of a slight murky and turbid body. Pale lemon pie merringue like color, capped off with a solid four fingers of foamed rich off white head. Thick retention and barely even budging, with excellent amounts of clingy lace.
Aroma is a great hop flavor. Ripping grapefruit, and musty earth, mixed into one like a giant bottle of perfume. Sweet touches of caramel like malt also hiding out as well. Excellent hop profile, some slight variety, and just wonderful on the nose.
Delicious palate. Orange and deep grapefruit mid palate flavors, rich and juicy. The texture is light but full and rich malt, syrup like but without the harsh sweetness. Lots of oily zest on the finish, sweet pith and more grapefruit touches with an earthy balance. Maybe a hint of peach as well.
Real straightforward, and not complaining about the lack of complexity, but bold and controlled IPA. Great drinking beer.

16 ounce can in a stemmed tulip IPA glass. Very fresh.
Dense orange gold colored pour with a 1f fluffy white cap. Retains as a ring and leaves good lacing.
Lots of grapefruit and summer morning pine aromas. “Earthy citrus “ is the orange and lemon zest, perhaps.
The grapefruit is there but the peach, tropical fruits, and mango show in the flavor profile.
Medium and smooth, very nice on the palate. Little hop bitterness.
Overall, very good. The aroma and taste are hop forward and not overly juicy.

Solid two finger head, dense, off-white hue, very nice stick to the lacing. The liquid is more translucent than opaque, more yellow than orange. Strong mixed melon component to the nose, minor notes of whipped cream and bubblegum, on the clean side rather than herbaceous, just getting a whisper of pink grapefruit, wouldn't characterize it as citrusy per se. Medium-bodied, smooth and semi-creamy, not excessively dry. Here too I am getting outsized melon notes followed on by weaker apricot and peach, not tropical. The grapefruit citrus woven in a bit tighter. More honeyed than piney. Tactful finish. A bit too monochrome to be considered top tier but gets extra points for drinkability. The kind of beer you sip casually when playing pool or darts. (Canned 12/20/21)

Poured fresh from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Hazed medium golden pour with massive fluffy white head. Big retention and lacing.
S: Pungent and hoppy. Loads of grapefruit... mango and pine. Fruit and... appropriately... sap.
T.F: Semi-sweet and fruity to start. Loads of grapefruit, citrus rind, and lemongrass. Grape and pine. Peach and tea. Modest bitterness... super creamy and smooth. Incredibly drinkable. More fruit and hops to finish.
O: Another stupid-good Tree House brew. Loved this one.

Presentation: 16 oz. can with the canning date printed on the bottom. Served in a Teku.
Appearance: The thick, rocky, three finger head stay around for a while and leaves behind a foam layer that stays until the end and leaves behind a lot of chunky lacing that covers the entire glass. It's a beautiful, bright, murky gold color.
Smell: It's a strong, fruity aroma of fresh grapefruit pulp, canned apricots and lemon.
Taste: There's a fruity acidity at first of grapefruit and orange followed by some apricot sweetness. In the aftertaste there's a slight hop burn that's not unpleasant but is noticeable.
Mouthfeel: It's medium bodied, creamy and pillowy with a touch of crispness from the medium carbonation. There's no chalkiness or roughness but it does get cloying after a while because of the sweetness.
Overall: Tree House's "Sap" line usually flies under the radar with heavy hitters like Julius, Green and Haze and their other various limited releases getting all the attention. This is still a fantastic beer nonetheless. Fruity, easy to drink and enjoy.
