Notes / Commercial Description:
Human Condition is a rich and delicious Tree House stout brewed with coconut, caramel and chocolate. It is designed to capture the spirit and flavor of samoas cookies. It pours a deep black color in the glass releasing aromas of tasted coconut, caramel, milk chocolate and creamy coffee. The flavor follows suit, with a predominant chocolate coconut note fading into a rich caramel candy finish. We are so pleased to our long running philosophy of presenting richly flavorful, thoughtful, and well crafted beers that neither tire or weigh heavy on the palate. This beer works perfectly as a companion to a cold spring evening spent dreaming of warm sandy beaches. In the breadth of the human condition we hope that this beer can offer a moment of joy amidst the endless ups and downs we encounter as we make our way through this fortunate journey called life.

Big thanks to rudzud, canned 3/21/18... All the worlds a stooge... I mean a stage.

Pours a decent mocha colored fizzy slight creamy small head that fades semi quickly, a bit of lacing, long legs, and pitch black beer.

Nose big sweet creamy stout, a little creamy milk stout like dry mild roasted malt, super dark chocolate cocoa, a little cocoa roast, bit of coffee and caramel, some coconut, not a ton but strong enough to pick up easily, little fudgey, touch of cookie dough, roast and coffee fades quickly to caramel cookie and biscuity wafer.

Taste starts with some raw coconut, toasted coconut and a bit of dark chocolate cocoa, caramel, coffee grinds, a bit of char notes and roast, creamy rich malt, a little milk chocolate, again mild cookie dough and toasted cookie wafer, touch of fudge and caramel sauce, a touch of bitter roast, a bit nutty as well, coconut is a bit light but still obvious esp mixed with the nutty notes and a little dark chocolate makes for a nice candy bar thing, drier finish, lingering milk chocolate, caramel, and some coconut, as well as roast and coffee, but not a ton.

Mouth is med bod, a bit creamy, decent carb, no booze

Overall not bad, def wish the coconut was more, roast and dry coffee grinds thing was a bit over the top, base stout was pretty nice as typical from Tree House, but this is not a shot stopped for them.

Thick khaki colored head that dissipates rather quickly. Smell/Taste of coffee, chocolate, caramel and coconut. Coconut becomes more prominent as it warms up. Being a milk stout, the lactose flavor is also there.

Picked this up at the brewery, incredibly small release.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice dark dark brown almost black with a creamy almost two finger mocha head that fades to leave a rather thin blanket with a fluffy halo.

S - Aromas of big sweet milk chocolate, creamy lactose, nice sweet caramel ribbons. There is a little bit of creamy coffee as well. Very aromatic until one goes looking for the coconut. As it warms up it peeks through a little bit.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with big sweet milk chocolate notes, slight flashes of dark chocolate. Creamy lactose, big big caramel notes. The coffee is rather subtle. Coconut is nice, lightly toasted and a little sweet. Very pleasant and balanced.

M - Mouthfeel is nice and creamy, lightly carbonated, good for the style.

O - Overall this was a very nice milk stout from Tree House. Great caramel and chocolate going on though I wish there was more coconut here especially in the nose.

L - I'm starting to sense there's a series of beers here... HMMMM. Most Tree House stouts are pitch black, but this one pours a pitch brown. Absolutely impenetrable when it comes to light, that's for sure. Multi-layered head with a light, silky cream & sugar ring on top and a darker, coursely-bubbled bottom layer. Looks like a cappuccino.

S - rich brown sugar and chocolate brownies. Fudge galore. Hints of Irish cream with caramel syrup. Regular Coffee. Lactose deliciousness.

T - woof. I don't think I've had something this decadent even on the expensive end of the Starbucks menu. Delicately balanced with roasty bitterness, this thing is loaded with Baker's chocolate, caramel drizzle, brown sugar, cane sugar, vanilla, and freshly ground coffee beans spackled with warm booze. Mocha and subtle toasted coconut shavings build the foundation. Finishes mostly neutral without much aftertaste. Maybe a little cool.

F - luscious and creamy, but no lack of life. Carbonation is focused and reminds you this is still beer. Feels like coffee with all the fixins' but not so much milk that it's thick and disgusting. More of a sugary feel.

O - having a hard time choosing between this and HOTS. There are some parallels here in that the coconut isn't intrusive similar to the PB presence in HOTS. It's used tastefully as the backbone but incorporated in such a way that doesn't feel like just another adjunct. It's natural! Hits me more as coffee than cake or a milkshake. In that sense, it's more drinkable, but is still loaded with sugar and might rot my teeth out of my head. Probably.

Hmm... CHOCOLATE, caramel nice tones of malty roasted barley. Wonderfully balanced. My favorite of Tree House stouts. The flavors get even more complex and intricate as the beer warms. Feels like cold fall night or Christmas beer.

Great look for a 7.9% stout. Pours rather clear and brown, but sits black in the glass and leaves a soapy, mocha head. Smell and flavor is sort of dominated by the caramel. It's a very good caramel flavor, but it sort of overpowers the coffee and coconut. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, very subtle coffee. Taste is sweet caramel, MAYBE some coconut.. Or maybe I'm just tasting that because I know it's in there. Mouthfeel is a bit on the thin, watery side. Beer is very good, but I feel like it's missing richness.

Had on tap. Pours opaque, black in color with one third inch head. Taste is roasted coffee, dark chocolate, dry cocoa, and plenty of coconut, especially on the aftertaste. Slightly bitter, roasty, medium heavy bodied with low carbonation. Not as sweet as Southern Tier Samoa, but nice and coconut forward. Great cooler weather beer. Would get this again.

16 oz can. Black and viscous looking. Smells of milk chocolate and coffee roasted malt. Tastes of fudge, milk chocolate, lactose, and alcohol. Sweet and sticky. Medium heavy. Small quantities taste good. Couldn't drink much of it, though. Did not really get coconut out of it.
