pours out a nice dark color with an absolutely luscious tan-mocha head, just so creamy and dense and frothy, wonderful retention that hangs around for days

aromas are very sweet, vanilla forward, hinting at carmel, honestly not detecting all that much coffee ... mainly vanilla sweetness and some other nondescript sweetness that sort of reminds me of barrel character - very interesting and decadent!

palate opens up with a huge burst of thick and chewy vanilla sweetness, heaps of vanilla, marshmallow, fluff for days, also getting a vanilla bean ice cream type thing. there is mellow roast throughout and just a hint of coffee but good god this is a desert forward stout. tasting pulled candies, chocolate cake, almost a toasted coconut like thing. there is also a hint of booze, but not in a harsh way ... rather just a pleasant hit of bourbony goodness to go along with all the flavors invoking barrel sweetness.

mouthfeel is thicker than for other ds beers i have tasted, really chewy and velvety. overall this one is just immense - has enough barrel character to make you think its BA, a massive vanilla forward beer with a hint of chocolate and coffee. this one blew me away and is worth sharing with a good friend as a dessert beer!

Pours jet black, impervious to light, thick mocha head that lasts. Aroma is roasted chocolate malt and espresso with some vanilla, a little yeasty. Flavor is very smooth and creamy chocolate, sweet vanilla, really great balance. Coffee is prevalent on the finish. Fairly full bodied. The most impressive thing about the beer is how smooth it is when you swallow it. No harshness or bitterness. I usually find this in a barrel aged beer. Remarkable.

poured into a Teku glass via bottle

color is a nice dark roasted coffee brown with tan foam

smell is a vanilla bomb, plus some chocolate and of course coffee!

taste is the roasty coffee up front, followed closely by the vanilla and the chocolate and caramel bringing up the rear

low carbonation

and mouthfeel is full and creamy, not too sweet

a fantastic coffee stout, as I'd expect nothing less from TH

500ml undated bottle.

Pours opaque black with an inch of tan head. Retention and lacing is moderate. Dark chocolate, espresso, and vanilla in the nose. Full bodied with an extremely creamy, velvety mouthfeel. Brownie batter with dark coffee and rich vanilla on the palate. Finishes sweet with booze-laced fudge, nougat, and espresso.

A- Pours from the 500ml into a becher with a midnight, motor oil black body and a very dark brown cocoa cap. The head shoots up to an inch at its peak with a very thick and creamy consistency. Great head retention. Lacing is widespread with sheets and webs meandering down the glass.

S- The classic mixture of chocolate, coffee and vanilla with a moderately strong suggestion of sweetness coming off like a very refined dessert or a great vanilla bean mocha. Just a pleasure to sniff. The roasted barley acts to bring everything together and provide the charred and cocoa notes. A bit of toffee and brown sugar hints as well.

T- Massive vanilla with very strong coffee, roast grains, chocolate and a moderately high level of sweetness. The vanilla accentuates the sweets but later on the roast, slight booze and coffee cut into that and it balances out masterfully. I mean in the end it is kind of a four note, simple beer but you can't go wrong with perfect levels of sweet cocoa, dark roast coffee (none of that stale bean flavor), vanilla and roast.

MF- Heavy overall body and the texture is a balance of oily thickness and a very creamy softness on the taste buds. Velvety and as smooth as can be while being substantial enough to support those rich flavors. Slightly bitter roastiness from the grains and beans.

The base beer is mastery and this variation tops it, honestly. The vanilla just plays off of the coffee and cocoa so well and the mouthfeel is fantastic. Long live Double (and single, and triple shot).

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.

This smells like mildly sweet bourbon vanilla, cookie dough, nutty chocolate, coffee, and caramel.

Vanilla is an obvious flavor choice to add to the Double Shot base. It melds well with the obvious caramel/coffee/chocolate tones. It's not too sweet, which is always appreciated with pastry stouts. It's got a nice little subtle roastiness on the back end.

This is medium bodied, and very creamy, with a good level of drinkability.

This definitely on the upper end, compared to other Double Shots.
