Notes: Guava is emerging as the perfect fresh fruit accompaniment to our beer. With Julius, it reveals pineapple and papaya notes to layer the intense citrus characteristics of Julius. Julius w/Guava is immensely refreshing and pleasant to drink.

Had one twelve ounce draft at the Tree House Brewery in Charlton for eight dollars. My 49th brew from these guys. Pretty solid, a bit too bitter, not loving the guava, but wanted to try something different.

Draft at the brewery
Big creamy thick frothy head, nice lacing, good retention, typical super murky orange slight tan color

Nose is really nice, big bursts of topical Julius orange tangerine mango etc, followed by big bright juicy guava fruit punch, loads of fruit, under I get a little doughy flaked malt when I swirl the fruit out

Taste again big juicy Julius out front, orange, tangerine, mango sherbet, creamy base flaked malt wheat thing, doughy, bit more tropical with some guava in there, not a ton and more like guava juice fruit punch than raw fruit or paste, mild bitterness kicking in late

Mouth is med bod creamy soft juicy, good carb

Overall very nice guava adds nicely withhold destroying the Julius, although I wish it was a bit more prevalent in the taste

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery today.

A - Pours a hazy dark, kinda grayish, orange with a very thin head that faded somewhat quickly to leave some light side lacing and a thin cloud/halo. I chuckled when I got the glass...reminds me of original Brimfield Julius.

S - Aromas of enormous guava. Fresh fruit and paste. Super tropical. Decent amount of citrus rind still. Orange, tangello, clementine, and tangerines.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice bright guava, however, the guava notes are much mug less than the nose. The base Julius comes out much more with bright citrus peel and zest, loads of oily oranges.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated with a lingering bitter citrus peel.

O - Overall this was a rather solid variation of Julius. The guava is quite nice without overpowering the base beer.
