Double Shot - Little BuddyDouble Shot - Little Buddy
Notes: We are so pleased to offer a second consecutive batch of Double Shot for your enjoyment and contemplation, this time featuring a blended coffee from our friends at Olympia Coffee Company - Little Buddy! The base beer is balanced and saturated with chocolate and roasted barley flavors; a function of carefully selected ingredients and uncompromising, hands on brewing processes. The addition of Little Buddy in copious amounts adds a beautifully balanced coffee character. We experience flavors and aromas of milk chocolate, graham cracker, marshmallow, and a hint of autumn spice. The mouthfeel is luxurious and velvety, making Double Shot easy to enjoy in a tulip or snifter of your choice. It is the perfect accompaniment to a big harvest dinner or cool night spent by the fire.

Tasted from bottle. Pours black with thick beige head. Nice roasted coffee aroma. Flavors of vanilla, cocoa, creamy with tons of coffee. Some caramel notes as well. A little less robust than the Kenya Thiririka variant it was tasted against. Awesome beer.

Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black with a thin mocha head that fades to leave light wisps and a thin blanket.

S - Aromas of nice fruity coffee, dark chocolate, nice lighter roast and milk chocolate.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice milk chocolate, lighter coffee beans and fruit notes, good softer char with the alcohol hidden well.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, creamy, alcohol hidden well.

O - Overall this was an alright beer with decent coffee and chocolate. Solid.

THanks to rudzud
Dark mocha colored thick frothy but smaller head, long thick legs, pitch black beer

Nose more base double shot, big nutty fresh coffee, a bit roasty, some cocoa and dark chocolate notes, faint vanilla and caramel, but coffee also adds a nice fruity aroma

Taste a bit sweet, more coffee, lots of it, a bit roasty, nice char and some cocoa, fruity and nutty coffee, nice fruity notes but dark fruit, toasty malts with some mild fluffy nougat and caramel notes, a mild alcohol warmth, nice juicy malt and roast, little candy like roast rich coffee, sticky mild sweet finish

Mouth is med to fuller bod, rich creamy like, decent carb, light booze

Overall OK, nothing special esp for Tree House, coffee is OK but not great

looks like Nestle Quik on the top!!! for those who cannot give a 5 because "perfection is impossible", then add a 6... what is perfection? but for me, 9.6% of silky chocolatey smoothness is pure deliciousness! 2nd pour adds darker swirls of perceived different textures and milky chocolate nirvana! slight and subtle coffee pokes its head in here and there and that is exactly how i like coffee in my beer! not saturatingly over powering bitterness which only slides to the right of that scale as it sits in the frig. THIS is excellent!

L - dark black with crimson fringes. No wait, that's the just reflection of the red shirt I'm wearing. Yeah this is black af. Creamy two-toned head; the top a lighter tan and the bottom burnt brown. Always impressed by how DS head has such a frothy whipped look.

S - lively and autumn-themed. Spiced coffee with clove and toasted Graham crackers. Bittersweet chocolate and even a hint of chile heat.

T - rich and packed full of flavor. Surprising amount of fruit in this one, but I guess it's more of a sensation. Like biting into a peach, this beer retains that same dense, concentrated saturation. Mangos and tangerines, of course not in the IPA way. Heavily soaked in wood and dark chocolate syrup-blended coffee. A refreshing herbaceousness brightens things up along with notes of brown sugar and cinnamon. Finish is sticky but also cooling, begging another sip.

F - more electric than other DSs. High voltage tingling underscores the buoyant flavors, but the soft fluffiness rounds off every sharp corner.

O - one of the more upbeat Double Shots. Pep in its step and all that. Fitting name for a coffee bean. Was hoping for more coffee roastiness, but it's a delight to see the fruitier side of coffee.

Poured from a 16.9 oz bottle into a harmony glass.

Pours a pitch black color with a finger of fluffy caramel head. The head leaves a ring of lacing as it settles into a thick blanket.

The aroma brings notes of bitter roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and smores. The back end has mild notes of cinnamon and nutmeg.

The flavor brings notes of cocoa with marshmallows, dark chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee. The finish brings a faint hint of cinnamon spice.

The feel is full-bodied with soft carbonation. Creamy and smooth and moderately dry.

Overall, another fantastic Double Shot variant. The coffee takes the steering wheel here, letting the chocolate ride shotgun. This is perhaps not as complex or flavorful as other TH stouts, but it's still hilariously delicious and smooth.
