Notes / Commercial Description:
One of the hallmark attributes of Tree House Brewing Company is continuous evolution, candid self assessment, and progressive hands on experimentation. We are focused on process now more than ever, and have used the recent curiosity beers to refine and question our process while investigating highly specific variables related to mash temperature, our water profile, yeast pitching rates, kettle & dry hopping rates, and pH adjustment methodology. For this particular batch, we focused on mash and kettle salt additions, drastically increasing our rate of particular salts that contribute to body & mouthfeel. It is hopped intensely with new age & experimental American hops on both the hot and cold side of our process. The result is a beer that is distinctly rich and velvety on the palate, with a syrupy body and heavy effect on the tongue. We taste honeydew melon, papaya, guava, and stonefruit - a cornucopia of flavor on the more syrupy, less intense side of things. This beer is super enjoyable for those who like a full bodied, densely flavored Double IPA - a unique and delightful juice bomb, indeed!

Picked up a 4 pack of this back on 4/25 perhaps and gave a can to Jared.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice hazy dark golden orange hue with a nice creamy one finger white head that fades slowly to leave good lacing and a creamy little blanket.

S - Aromas of melons galore, really almost overripe melon, nice orange citrus as well as flashes of mango and even some danker passion fruit. Really loving the melon aroma here.

T - Taste is similar to the nose. Tons of super ripe melon and loads of juicy citrus and peel, super juicy. So juicy to the point of almost being on the sweeter side of juice. Over ripe tropical fruits as well along with flashes of dank passion fruit and papaya. There is a little bit of lingering citrus peel bitterness on the finish.

M - Mouthfeel is just spot on for the style. Fluffy creamy carbonation, alcohol almost completely hidden. Almost heavy and chewy.

O - Overall this was just utterly spot on. The pop on the nose and just how flavourful this was is really something to behold. I really, really hope they continue to build on this variable ratio here because it's practically magical. I regret having not bought more than 4 cans of this as by the time I'd given them away I was only left with a single can for myself!

Pouring this from a 16 oz. into a Treehouse Willi Becher style glass, this beer pours out completely hazy and the shade of a blood orange. It forms over a finger worth of tightly packed off yellow bubbles from a very gentle pour. Leaves heavy lacing as it slowly recedes.

The nose brings a fruit “flesh” aspect to things. I’m picking up peach the most, then melon, oranges and slight lemon. A touch of pine.

The taste comes in with a sweet syrup before turning to a heavy malt backbone. Crackers and honey covered biscuits. That touch of pine is still in there as an accent. A lot of that fruit fades but there is still some peachy flesh in there.

The mouthfeel is thick with syrup. Sticky and coats the mouth with an oiliness.

Overall, it’s not a bad brew but it’s definitely not a hop forward ipa.

This one pours a distinctly hazy and creamy orange color, with a small foamy head and lots of lacing.

This smells like concentrated hop syrup, with tangerine, melon, peach and pine mainly, and no malt character.

This is very heavy and not at all refreshing. It sits on the tongue, with candied and dank fruity hops, a bit of green bitterness, and no maltiness. It’s tasty but overwhelming.

The attempt to make this full bodied and intense is interesting but flawed. Drinkability is certainly sacrificed, as it’s a tad syrupy. There’s not a ton of lingering bitterness, at least.

I’m not sure I’m fully on board with the “advancements” TH was trying to make here. It’s still a decent enough DIPA.

Seemingly pouring darker at first, it fills to a lighter but turbid maize yellow has a soft creamy white head tops it off.

The pillowy medium body features tropical notes of fruity but soft mango bubblegum and pineapple with mildly dank herbal accents and even fainter black pepper, finishing paper dry.

L - these labels keep me coming back. I relate heavily with Bigfoot in the background there. Pours a murky turbidity with yellowy greenish-brown haze. Impenetrable when it comes to light. Almost dirty-looking. Head that looks like velvet, sheen and all.

S - getting whiffs of Green... pineapple, clementine, satsuma... Blueberries, fresh-cut pine, and coconut. Tropical and fruity.

T - on the zesty side of things. Fresh pineapple rind and under-ripe honeydew melon. Sweet, dry grape; mildly vinous in its maturity. Crisp papaya and curt grapefruit peel. Potent herbal bitterness underscores a heavy "spicy" potency.

F - has more of a marshmallowy vibe one might find in heavy-duty stouts. Feels thick without actually being thick. Fluffy and soft, like the underside of my dear cat.

O - strays a bit from the blatant juice of late and hits with more grapefruit bitterness. Loads of spicy rind and crisp freshness.

Pours dense orange haze with a 1 -11/2 finger white head into my TH rainbow willie becher glass.
Classic Treehouse look and smell with what I think is a combination of the hops and their house yeast (their house yeast is what makes them what they are).
Big notes of overripe fruit - can't pinpoint one.
Taste is citrusy with a little bit of tangerine and some tropics.
finish is fairly dry for the style. Can taste a little alcohol.
Pretty dang good beer again...
