Notes: For this presentation of Trail Magic, we carefully blended Trail Magic that had first been lagered in stainless for eight weeks and transferred to French oak for eight weeks for additional cold conditioning with a fresh batch to taste. What resulted is a beautifully refined pilsner that is greater than the sum of its parts, with layers of sophistication, elegance, and refined softness that can only be crafted with dutiful patience and mindful brewing practice. Enjoy.

16oz pour at the brewery, overall like the changes in trail magic from last year, but this oak aged version does not stand out out, I feel if you gave it to me blind I could not tell the difference and I get little to no oak

Poured on draft at the brewery into a German Stein glass.

Pours a hazy pale gold color with a finger of creamy white head. The head is gone in a hurry, leaving a few spots of lace as it settles into a thin ring.

The aroma brings notes of sweet bread and grass, with some Noble hops on the back end. There's the absolute foggiest idea of vanilla and oak here.

The flavor has a bit more depth. Lots of fresh biscuits, pilsner malts, Noble hops, and very subtle oak chips. There's some citrus peel on the finish.

The feel is medium-light bodied with pretty good carbonation. Crisp and highly drinkable.

Overall, a pretty good pilsner that is a welcome upgrade over Trail Magic, however I feel the differences are far too subtle to be noteworthy. The oak is not nearly as present as it should be. Still, this is a very drinkable beer and one I'd love to see in cans or bottles.

Pours a yellow hue with a slight haze to the clarity and a creamy, off-white head that settles into consistent skim embedded with ringlets. Nose is fairly subdued - clean with some grassy notes. Taste follows nose; however, no indication of oak-aging. Mouthfeel is light in body with a lively carbonation that finishes clean and almost semi-crisp. Overall, a solid example of the style. Delicious and drinkable.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery today.

A - Poured a nice crystal clear golden hue with a thin white head that fades rather quickly to leave thin wisps.

S - Aromas of nice German pilsner notes, pilsner malts, lager notes, light hops, light grassy notes, light malt sweetness. Very light oak note in the background. Super subtle.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, nice soft lager notes, good pale pilsner malts. Flashes of orange peel and grassy hops. Finish is just a little oaky. Little bit of straw notes along with some dough as well.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, faintly crisp. Decent body.

O - Overall this beer, while alright doesn't really do much for me. There are some odd flashes of bitterness as well. Wouldn't mind seeing a bit more oak come through on this.
