Notes: We are pleased to welcome Summer to the Tree House family just in time for the season of sunshine, warm weather, beach trips, and hanging out in the backyard! Summer is a heavily oat saturated Double IPA brewed with sunny American hops including Amarillo, Citra, & Magnum. It pours a thick yellow color in the glass, with a billowing, robust head -- a real stunner visually! We taste and smell fresh squeezed orange juice, mango gummies, clementine sorbet, and citrus pith. Summer is a chewy IPA, leaving behind fruity hop oils on the tongue to entice the next sip. Drink it cold and drink it straight from the can for maximum hop enjoyment. This beer has us super excited for a summer of good beer, good friends, and new memories - enjoy!

A- Downright floury pour from the tallboy can with a chalky yellow body and a one centimeter creamy head. The white foam has good retention and a very silky appearance. Lacing is plentiful and it forms with wide but thin sheets.

S- Orange creamsicle and dank weed are the first things to come to mind in a brew that is, obviously, very much hop driven. Soft tropical and stone fruits round things out here with melon, bubble gum, peach, papaya, guava and mango notes coming to mind. Suggests a moderate level of sweetness.

T- Usually not the case but here the soft fruits take over with bubble gum, melon and papaya notes saturating the palate with orange, floral, grapefruit and dank hints supporting them. Later on guava, peach, grapefruit pith, creamsicle, watermelon and mint come to mind. Definitely on the sweet side but if you look at the list of flavors it doesn't take much imagination to see how sweetness plays well with soft tropical fruits. A touch of oats, pale grains and bread to go along with the aforementioned hops and sweetness. A hint of powdery, vegetal hops but the fruit nectar stays relevant for the entire can in this case.

MF- As mentioned in previous reviews, Tree House nails mouthfeel in all of their beers, whether IPA or stout. Smooth and massively creamy with a high level of carbonation. Chewy and supremely smooth with a medium bitterness in the ending.

Somewhat of a return to form for me and Tree House as of late. The softer and truly flavorful fruits from the hops run the show and the powdery, bitter, vegetal hop flavor that can ruin so many modern IPAs is kept at bay for the entire can. Summer coming to a close but maybe some brightness in the future for me and NE IPAs.

Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice hazy golden orange hue with a thin white head that fades to leave nice lacing and a thin blanket.

S - Big aromas of citrus peel and orange juice, nice pithy notes as well as flashes of tropical notes. Little yeasty on the finish. Decent grapefruit as well.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of greener hops, nice slight bitterness. There are real nice citrus notes and zest, loads of tropical notes. Really good softer finish.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, fluffy, alcohol hidden nicely.

O - Overall this was a very solid dipa with lovely fruity hop notes, nice citrus zest. Little chalky/green on the taste though.

I mean you can just say it about every hoppy beer Tree House puts out: they knocked it out of the park with this. From look/smell to taste/feel this is another home run!

16 oz can 07/03/19
Poured into a brandy snifter on my front porch at 12:22 pm
Appears hazy golden white corn/maize with 1/2 inch fizzy white head
Smells of sweet cracker malt and nectarine
Taste is light, but strong fruity hop flavor of sweet fruit like nectarines followed by bitter grapefruit.
Mouthfeel is full bodied.
Overall, very mellow, sweet, and packs a punch.

A great beer but not in my list of favorites from Tree House. Minimal fruit flavor from the hops, more grassy and pine. The nose is biscuit and minimal pine. Great beer but their core line up is much better

Canned 08/07/19 “deep cuts only! no hits!!”

This is stellar. And unique for a NEIIPA. Pours a beautiful hazy bright yellow with a proper head. Aroma and flavor are what you’d expect from TH while being surprisingly different at the same time. Heavy on the dank citrus fruit, at times this almost smells/tastes like marijuana. A bit grassy and barny, this is a true testament to summer and all the season brings. Well done, TH!

Look is typical for a murkbomb, however more head on this one than normal. Head is white with an orange tinge to it. Aroma is tropical, ripe fruits. Pineapple, mango, nectarine, orange, and a slight musty cheese scent. Taste follows, orange, mango, grapefruit, a little pine, and that musty cheese is flashed too. Finish has a great hop bite. Mouthfeel is fuller than medium, soft, almost creamy but not OH creamy. Overall this is excellent but not quite as good as spring.

Consistently opaque maize with a tall white foam head settling to a persistent creamy blanket leaving bubbly chunks of lace.

Peachy, fluffy, and juicy, this beer finds what so many breweries have lost in the pursuit of MOAR.

Right off the jump, floral and juicy aromas of peach jump out of the glass and this translates well on the palate, with an added mild green hop spiciness that's kind of like mango, paired with some soft cracker. The moderate body is floating on clouds and finishes softly semi-dry.

This is one of the most dialed in beers I've had by Tree House in a long time and it's absolutely delicious. After all this time and especially after such a large scale up, that's a huge achievement. The description on the back of the can does it plenty of justice, but I like my review more :P ;)
