Notes: Autumn is a fresh entry in the continuing evolution of Tree House's seasonal efforts. Inspired by the vibrant sensory experience associated with hop harvest in Australia, and harkening back to extraordinary memories of the Tasmanian countryside, Autumn utilizes carefully selected Galaxy hops atop a heavily oated base beer. The result is chewy hop nirvana. It has the power to instantly transport you to a place of natural wilderness, pristine air, and awe from which these delightful hops originate. We invite you to use it as a vehicle to reflect, give thanks, and revel in the company of friends this Autumn.

TREE HOUSE AUTUMN 9/26/19

Acquired yesterday at the brewery. Attractive can art of falling leaves. Canned 9/13/19. Poured from the 16 oz. can into a Tree House stemmed tulip.

a: Opaque yellow/orange with a finger thick white head which receded to even surface foam and dense lacing.

s: Citrus leaning to grapefruit and lemon rind.

t; Strong citrus with some dankness over a solid malt base. Dry finish with lingering bitterness.

m; Medium, very good body and carbonation tingle.

o; Wow such a quintessential NEIPA, as TH has so well mastered. Only criticism might be seems unbalanced towards hops with slightly excess bitterness. But it certainly keeps your attention and has lots of staying power. A great NEIPA tribute to the season.

16oz can, dated 09.13.19 and poured into a Tree House snifter glass.

The beer pours a very bright and pale golden color, honey hues with a foamy white head that has moderate retention and yields lots of soapy and sticky lacing. The aroma is very nice, bright floral bouquet, peach fuzz, grapefruit peel with some grassy and earthy raw green hop with dough and sweet yeast. The flavors are good, lots of peach and juicy citrus with a nice underlying floral character that brings out some grassy and greener hop flavors, light pine that finishes with sweet, soft pale grain and yeast. The mouthfeel is good, coating and creamy with a lively medium body that is smooth and finishes easily with a lightly warm sensation.

Verdict: A very nice IIPA from Tree House. Definitely gets one ready for hoodie season as the can points out, bright and juicy but restrained and moves nicely from bright to more earthy and bitter, analogous to the transition from summer to autumn.

Canned 3 weeks ago.

L -- Hazy pale orange with a finger of white head that retains quite a bit less than normal for Tree House. Pretty decent lacing though
S -- Actually a bit more like a Trillium IPA: punchy guava, pineapple, grapefruit, and sweet floral. The galaxy just explodes out of the glass
T -- Juicy orange, mango, pineapple, vanilla. The fruity yeast character is a little less prevalent here than many of Tree House's IPAs, perhaps because of the heavy oat bill used in the malting. Either way, it's tasty. Not really getting too much of that garlic/white pepper spiciness that I'm used to in Galaxy, though
F -- Soft, creamy, and fluffy. Medium mouthfeel, medium carb
O -- Another winner in the Tree House lineup, although this one definitely reminded me a lot more of Trillium's regular rotationals

Picked up a four pack of this at the brewery. Really fitting can design considering the name and time of year.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice hazy pale gold hue with a fat two finger white head that faded super super slowly to leave really nice lacing and a dense creamy blanket. The side lacing is practically painted on in layers by the time you get halfway through the glass.

S - Aromas of muted pineapple though as it warms the pineapple opens up to an almost spicy pineapple. The general aroma is a bit on the greener side, almost papery. Nice softer malt on the nose along with a little bit of pithy citrus peel.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with the heavy, creamy, nearly chewy oats making a big presence up front and throughout. The hops are pleasant with lightly tropical pineapple flavour along with really nice grapefruit pith and peel. The pithy grapefruit bitterness is there but super subdued and soft. As it warms the tropical fruit pops a bit more as well as lingers more on the finish.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, medium to almost heavy bodied, super creamy and almost chewy due to all the oats. Alcohol is hidden quite well.

O - Overall this was a rather solid DIPA. Awesome appearance and mouthfeel but I wish the hops popped more on the taste and especially the nose. It'll be interesting to see how this drinks in a few weeks as I think that may liven up the Galaxy hops a bit.

Canned 9/13/19, thanx to rudzud for picking it up

Pours a giant foamy semi dense creamy head with great retention, pillowy lacing, very cloudy hazy pale apricot color

Nose brings citrus and mild tropical, caramelized candied pineapple, mild orange cream and tangerine, creamy flaked oats and doughy creamy malt,

Taste brings mild sweet doughy malt, creamy oats and lots of suspended proteins, soft juicy citrus and pineapple, mild generic tropical fruit, and roasted caramelized pineapple, tangerine and orange cream, super creamscicle

Mouth is med bod, super velvety creamy milky but no lactose, medium to lighter carb pretty much no alcohol

Overall pretty solid typical tree house, super super milky creamy, but nothing overly special for tree house

Another seasonal treat that’s really malty with a lot of caramel, toasted grains, oats, graham cracker and buttery notes that blends well with the hoppy flavors which include lemon zest, grapefruit, orange peel, tangerine, tart orange juice, herbs, peppery spices and faint piney notes. Another tasty brew from TH.

Pours a protein rich golden. No light will get through this. Some orange zest, a little pez. Again, some artificial character like I get in Gggreennn. This is much more tame Galaxy IPA. Lots of citrus with a deep dank skunkiness to it. It's perfectly alright.

Consumed 2/2/20

A: Golden tangerine with yellow tones - hazy - pours with a medium size white head, fades to a few wisps but retains a small collar and leaves some nice lacing

S: Tropical and citrus notes, definitely lots of Galaxy but I would be shocked if this was just Galaxy due to the complexity - floral citrus, orange and tangerine juice, spritz of grapefruit - herbal, green hops, slightly dank, some woodsy aromas - peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, tropical aromas - more malt character than a "typical" Tree House IPA with some nice oat aromas as well as the pale grains

T: Juicy and fruity without treading into fruit salad territory - tangerine and orange juice with some notes of ruby red grapefruit, grapefruit zest - herbal, green, woodsy, dank, hop cones - some slight touches of earth - medium bitterness - peach, pineapple, mango, melon, fleshy tropical fruit - chewy oats and some pale grains, lingering oat goodness in the finish

M: Medium body, decidedly smooth and a touch chewy, carbonation on the low side

O: They could have just threw in some leaves and pine cones and called it a day

Apparently I am a fan of these Tree House "season" IPAs, as I gushed over Summer, and I am also really enjoying Autumn. The bonus oats and bonus bitterness make this a winner in my books.
