Brighter Than StarlightBrighter Than Starlight
Notes: Brewed with Citra, Nelson, & Galaxy hops, Brighter Than Starlight merges all of the best attributes of I Have Promises To Keep and In Perpetuity with a process approach similar to that of Very Green. It pours an impenetrable yellow in the glass and tastes like lychee, orange gummies, starfruit, passion fruit, and peaches. This beer is inspired, both by our rampant and unrelenting desire to improve and to pay tribute to those we care deeply about. This is a milestone beer in many ways, and one we are exuberant to share with you.

Bought on a nice cool September afternoon and excited to try this self described "milestone beer." As is always the case with Tree House, I tried to be hyper critical but this juice bomb met the milestone character.
The smell did not give me any reason to believe it would be any different and the color was an opaque golden hue, again, nothing unique but the taste and feel were the turning point. Poured into a beer tulip glass, the first sip was like eating cotton candy, soft and sweet. There is a slight grapefruit bitterness afterwards but it wears off and you get back to the same point you started with the first sip, soft and sweet. Not sure how Willy Wonka got a job at Tree House but overall the glass is a great voyage from start to finish and sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Picked up a few cans of this at the brewery today.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice super hazy golden sun yellow with a thick two finger white head that fades slowly to leave nice lacing and a dense, creamy blanket.

S - Aromas of pithy grapefruit, brighter pineapple. Very much tropical fruit salad like with a heavy splash of orange juice. The hop profile is quite balanced, nothing to sharp but quite harmonious. The Citra and Galaxy pop pretty good with that juicy citrus and tropical fruit combo but I'm left wanting more from the Nelson. Even with the lack of Nelson the fruit hop profile on the nose is just lovely.

T - Taste is similar to the nose...a lot going on hop flavour wise which only gets more intense as it warms. Big, bright, juicy Valencia orange juice, pithy grapefruit peel and juice, sweeter pineapple, papaya, little mango as well as passion fruit and maybe some slightly tart green berry like flavour. The Nelson finally makes an appearance with really nice lingering white wine grape and is probably where those be just barely sour berry comes from as well. Clean lingering white wine, faint tartness, and grapefruit on the finish. No discernible alcohol on this one either.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, creamy, fluffy, alcohol hidden wonderfully. Stuff goes down like juice, it's just silly.

O - Overall this was just exquisitely done. The appearance and longevity of retention and lacing was great and that mouthfeel was typical Tree House just dialed up to 11 but it's the taste that makes this stand out in a sea of haze bombs. The two beers this description mentions, I Have Promises To Keep and In Perpetuity, are both lovely in their own right but to take them and play with the brewing based on knowledge garnered over the years is incredibly smart. The end result here is just a thing of beauty. Need to buy more of this.

Thanks to rudzud for picking this up, canned 9/18/19
Pours a thick frothy creamy 1 finger head with great retention and light soapy lacing, very cloudy hazy pale golden almost grayish color

Nose loads of citrus, orange juice, mango puree, some generic tropical, doughy malt with light chalky mineral, with a bit of pulp, light papaya and maybe guava, candied pineapple and some sweet malt and a bit of alcohol

Taste brings mild sweet doughy malt, lots of creamy flaked oats or flaked malt, with some minerals and chalky notes adding to the soft juicy feel, but gets a little too chalky almost papery, hops are super juicy tropical citrus, mild tangerine and a little peachy stone fruit like, candied pineapple and papaya, dried mango, mild bitterness, light alcohol, drier finish with a touch of alcohol, mild pithy citrus and tropical notes, turning a little spicy and green late

Mouth is med to fuller bod, rich creamy and a bit pithy and soft juicy, medium carb, a little warming alcohol

Overall quite good except for the chalky mineral note, gets a little green spicy like, nice hop profile, enjoyable, alcohol is about where it should be but I wouldn't say hidden well, but still super juicy and enjoyable
