SaturatedSaturated
Notes: Saturated is a Tree House Double IPA brewed with orange blossom honey, golden syrup, homemade mango simple syrup, and a blend of fruit forward American hops. It is carefully crafted to gently convey the essence of its individual constituents without an overly saccharine result. Saturated pours a glowing orange color in the glass and emits flavors and aromas juicy fruit gum, mango puree, light citrus honey, and sweet apricot. It is deeply complex and original, carving out a beautiful path of individualism and intrigue within our line-up of hoppy offerings, and we are quite excited to share it with you today!

Poured from 16oz can into a tulip.

Appearance: medium golden-orange hue with tons of haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam. Looks like a hazy to me!

Smell: sweet and juicy with a tropical fruit aroma; there's also a dank, perfumey element that is very vaguely reminiscent of purple jellybeans to me. Gotta say -- I like it.

Taste: the flavor manages to be fresh and dank at the same time. The bitterness builds slowly, which I like. There's kind of a chewy, resinous character here too that I enjoy. A good beer indeed.

Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a good carbonation and a nicely smooth creaminess. Very good indeed.

Overall: this didn't end up being quite the juice bomb of other Tree House beers I've had, but it's still damn tasty.

Hazy dark orange with light fluffy lacing. Smell is fruity-mango, orange, grapefruit, and sweet honey. Taste is juicy, citrusy, zesty and tangy with a slightly sweet honey with a nice bit of bitterness from the hops. Light to medium bodied, mouth watering, boozy. Very good, not great like some of their stuff.

L - pours a dull, orange glow. A little flat, a little milky, dense through and through. Orange-hued head with lacing pulled down by the dissipating head, leaving legs behind.

S - potent burst of orange-flavored honey, like you'd find in those little tubes at the Big E. Kiwi bubblegum, cantaloupe, and freeze-dried mango slices.

T - shot of mango juice up front. That's definitely the syrup. Sweet artificial peach flavoring and strawberry banana brightness. Bit of green hoppy goodness peeks through in the form of limey zestiness that leaves a lingering spicy, peppery pop. Melon and kiwi complement, giving this an outstandingly bright liveliness up front. The finish is grainy and pithy with dry, numbing bitterness.

F - smooth with touches of static electricity. Mostly cream with some zip to keep it going.

O - this is definitely saturated, but maybe not hop-saturated in the earthy, vegetal, lupulin..ness you'd expect from a saturated IPA. It's saturated in its vivid stone fruitiness and nectarized mango honey sugariness. Leaves a fuzzy sweater on the teeth. Can't have more than a couple of these, but they'll make for a great digestif.

Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass canned on 1/02/2020. Pours a very hazy yellow orange with a 2 finger sticky white head that thick streaks of lace as it slowly settles. 4.75

Smell is bold ripe melon, mango, tangerine, and some apricot. 4.25

Taste follows really juicy melon, tangerine, mango, pineapple, and some apricot in the balanced and long lingering finish. 4.5

Mouthfeel is bigger than medium, perfect soft carbonation, a tad sticky but not dry, and at 8.3% goes down so crazy easy and smooth. 5

Overall another great beer from one of the absolute best in the business. They almost always dazzle. Cheers all. 4.5

Cloudy, murky orange with two fingers of foamy, manila folder-colored head. Good retention and nice rings of lacing.

Watered down, slightly underripe mango in the nose. There’s a bit of greenness to it.

Relatively sweet green mango up front in the taste, joined by strong alcohol, a hint of citrus, watered-down honey and a moderately bitter, herbal aftertaste.

Full, somewhat slick mouthfeel with zippy carbonation.

The flat, underripe mango flavors are the dominant feature through this beer. It’s tasty, but doesn’t pop as much as others from this brewer.

Like a sip from pooh bears honey pot. Not overly sweet, it mutes into a beautiful finish. This is what a DIPA should be.

Picked-up two cans at the Tree House Brewery in Charlton on Tuesday for $5.05, canned on date of 11/25. My sixty eighth brew reviewed from these guys. This has a unique taste. I liked it, didn't love it, don't think it warrants the price as KJ, VG, JM etc.
