Notes:
I’m Dreaming of a White Chocolate Christmas is an imperial milk stout inspired by the season and brewed with a variety of chocolate malts, white chocolate, and coffee! Like many holiday treats, it is sweet, decadent, joyful, and fulfilling! We taste and smell sweet white chocolate, white chocolate chip chocolate cookies, and sweet buttercream balanced by dark chocolate overtones enveloped by a dense and fluffy body. This beer is the ideal sipper following a big holiday meal - as it warms waves of complexity wash over your palate, and it becomes more and more enjoyable as you work your way through the glass - enjoy!

Coffee cuts the sweetness really well. Smells phenomenal, tastes a level below, as it goes a tad too sweet to really pop.

16oz can dated 12/9/19.
Pours oily black with zero head, retention, or lacing. Kahlua, chocolate syrup, espresso, and a hint of mint in the nose. Full bodied with a tacky, syrupy mouthfeel. Brown sugar with chocolate liqueur, coffee, and confectioners sugar on the palate. Finishes extremely sweet with sugar-dusted fudge.
No white chocolate found here.

L - pours a rich dark brown with red-tinted head. Swirling this in the glass results in an aesthetic galactic pinwheel.
S - bright and caramely. Popcorn, roasted grains, and hints of low-cocoa content dark chocolate. A little bit of tangy orange peel on the end. Oddly nostalgic.
T - gentle mint chocolate chip up front. Fresh, citrusy, and subtly like those orange caramel-filled boxed chocolates. Peppermint hot cocao and butter cream cookies. The emphasis on white chocolate evolves the sweet milk chocolate into something more paler and even more bitter, yet sharper and crisper in flavor. Similar to a regular coffee bean vs vanilla bean. Finish is mild for this ABV with some warming spiciness.
F - marshmallowy fluffiness up front. This is full and soft on the tongue. Chugging this with Mentos would feel like vomiting up kittens.
O - lives up to its name I guess. Feels like a watered down chocolate TH stout, which sounds like a bad thing, but is oddly refreshing and allows other flavors to come out of hiding. Chocolate can be heavy and sweet, but this beer is perky and peppy.

Picked up at the brewery and shared with JLindros.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black with a thick mocha dark brown head that fades to leave light halo and thin wisps.
S - Aromas of nice creamy lactose, flashes of vanilla, nice milk chocolate, good coffee notes, flashes of almost buttercream. I don't know if I get actual white chocolate though.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice coffee roast and grind and roast before going to more flashes of dark chocolate and milk chocolate up front. The finish has flashes of white chocolate creaminesss and almost cocoa butter like. Still though, I don't quite get large waves of white chocolate!
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, creamy, smooth. The alcohol is hidden nicely, however, it flashes on the finish.
O - Overal this was a solid enough beer with decent stout notes. There are good coffee flavours and chocolate, however, I don't get a ton of white chocolate flavour.

Pours a dark tan colored foamy thick frothy med-smaller head with moderate retention, fair lacing, nice legs, very dark basically jet black color
Nose big chocolate up front, cocoa, some fudge, some vanilla and milk chocolate, a little butter cream like, a touch of alcohol, some roasted malt and coffee
TAste brings more cocoa and chocolate, milk chocolate, plenty of lactose sugar, a touch of white chocolate, butter cream, light roasted coffee, into cocoa butter and more legit white chocolate coming later, and butter fudge, the roasted coffee adds some macadamia like nut character, a touch of smooth alcohol, lighter bitterness, finishing sticky sweet with rich cocoa and a little white chocolate, more roasted malt and coffee with bitterness and a bit more hot alcohol less smooth
Mouth is fuller bod, rich thicker creamy like with med-higher foamy carb, light warming alcohol getting a little hotter late
Overall mixed, there is some white chocolate but none on the nose and only late on the taste, again loads of roasted malt and coffee, plenty of lactose which I'm not always a fan of

Appearance - The beer poured a thick black color with a dark tan colored had crowning the glass.
Smell - The nose had a lot of roasted coffee with a slight hint of chocolate.
Taste - The first impression was roasted coffee, a hint of mint, and chocolate (not necessarily sure if it’s white). With the adjuncts, it seemed pretty average. There is nothing that really stood out as being bold. It seemed more coffee forward than chocolate.
Mouthfeel - The beer had a reasonably full body, demonstrating good thickness.
Overall - It was not my favorite Christmas stout, but very drinkable.

Picked-up a single can at the Tree House Brewery in Charlton on 12/4 for $8.55, canned-on date of 12/9. My seventy sixth brew from these guys. Very solid brew, just below a 4.5, don't love the price point.

Pours opaque, dark black in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is white chocolate, cola, vanilla and roasted malt. Heavy bodied, sweet with moderate carbonation. Makes for a good imperial stout. Not sure I get all the flavors in the description but good.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a mason jar.
The pour is pitch black, with a finger of dark tan head. The head leaves a ring of lacing around the glass as it settles into a thin halo.
The aroma brings notes of white chocolate chips, chocolate fudge chunk cookies, dark chocolate, and subtle roasted coffee. There's also some caramel, vanilla, and dark roasted malts.
The flavor is shockingly well-balanced. There's loads of chocolate chip cookie dough, white chocolate fudge, and dark chocolate chips, followed by a wave of coffee, roasted malts, and a subtly hoppy finish.
The feel is full bodied with very low carbonation. Syrupy and sticky, yet smooth and deviously creamy. Chewy. Alcohol is present but only just.
Overall, this is a fantastic imperial milk stout that actually brings far more than advertised. It's absolutely sweet and is unquestionably a dessert stout, but the roasted malt and subtle hop presence are enough to balance everything out.
