Drawing on the knowledge gained from both Curiosity Seventy One and Curiosity Eighty, we are pleased to present this Double IPA for your enjoyment today! Eighty Five pours a dazzling yellow color in the glass and presents with a syrupy body filled with fruity esters. We taste and smell fruit loops, honeydew melon, mango hi-chews, and tropical punch bubblicious. A stand out in the series, Eighty Five has everything we desire to present in a Double IPA - bright flavors, a soft body, and superior drinkability. Enjoy!

Picked up at the brewery and shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice hazy pale golden hue with a thin white head that fades to leave light lacing and thin wisps.

S - Big aromas of juicy fruit gum and pineapple, citrus peel and zest.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice juicy gum and dank citrus, hops are pleasant, with melon and pineapple.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, but it's creamy and a little fluffy.

O - Overall this was a solid enough dipa, really nice fruity hops.

So I am sure that this review will seem inappropriate so long after the beer was canned, but here is a data point in the fresh beer game.
This 16 oz can is date stamped 12/19/19 and was purchased at the brewery. It has been in my refrigerator since that day. Today, 2/10/2024 I open it.
The beer pours a fairly cloudy goldenrod color, and I have to pour aggressively to get a spongey bleached white head of 2 cm to foam up. This foam fades slowly during the sampling and is fed by several active streams of carbonation.
The aroma on this beer is apparent almost immediately after I pop the can open. The scents are definitely melon and light fruitiness. I also get a little grassy note, but definitely isnt on the fresh cut side. Nose does seem a little duller but is still present and isnt off putting, and I suspect the fruit notes are similar to what was there fresh.
First sip reveals a light to medium body with fine sort of prickly carbonation. the texture is a little on the watery side making the beer drink very easy.
Flavor is sweet fruitiness up front with mangos and melon (cantaloupe to my palate) and some general fruit sugar. This gives way to a little rindy bitterness and then flavor goes back to fruit and lingers after each swallow.
The beer seems a little hollow and muted, but it isnt bad or undrinkable.
I wouldnt recommend keeping this beer any longer if you still had a can.

16 oz. can dated 12/19/19. Poured into Veil tulip glass.

L: Big white head, a good 3F job. Lots of fluffy white lacing and a cap and ring with long-term retention. Beer is a turbid golden orange.

S: Very tropical in nature, a bit grassy.

T: Tropical, especially mango. Also lots of honeydew and muskmelon in here. Grassy finish.

F: Light to medium body, mild carbonation. The usual Tree House composition and balance strength.

O: Another good IPA, slightly different taste than you might expect. Keep experimenting.

A: Poured from the can into a Palm tulip. Body is hazy but bright yellow/golden with a small white head that recedes quickly.

S: Nose jumps out of the glass - white grape skins, pineapple juice, touch of pine needles.

T: Juicy tropical fruit - pineapple, melon and melon rind - and some grapefruity bitterness about 3/4 of the way back of the sip. Heat noted at the back end.

M: Nice creamy, juicy TH feel. Call it medium in heft. Smooth.

O: Smooth and tasty. Very good. I think I like it better than the Very Sappy I had last night.

Cheers, and happy 2020!

Fresh can, stored cold. This just misses the mark for me. Looks like TH for sure but taste and smell is off spice (kinda of like like mosaic onion but different).
