Pours a clear dark caramel color, ample foamy head. Aroma is bready, yeasty, dark roasted malts. Flavor is bready, light caramel, burnt toast. Interesting. Light carbonation. Overall a very flavorful beer.

From a 16oz can, dated 10/06/21. Served in a willi becher pub glass.

Pours the colour of maple syrup with a scant finger of soft beige head. Retention is unremarkable, leaving a fizzy little cap and collar and no lacing at all to speak of. No visible carbonation, frankly looks a little dull and lifeless.

Aroma is disappointingly faint but otherwise pleasant: dry, toasty and nutty.

Taste is thin and somewhat reminiscent of a diet cola. Burnt toast, molasses, acorns. Dry and earthy, finishing a smidge soapy.

Feel is slick, medium bodied and, despite appearances, rather briskly carbonated.

Overall, drinkable enough but relatively uninteresting. I’ll be unlikely to remember it at all in a half hour.

Consumed 1/30/21

Dark brown, clear, pours with a medium sized beige head, fades to a wispy cap and a small collar
Toasted grains, caramel grains, dark bread, bread crust, very light hint of grassy hops, touches of dark chocolate, semisweet chocolate, caramel, toffee, molasses, cola, but it's mostly about the grainy malts, low sweetness overall
On the light side of medium, more smooth than crisp, medium carbonation

Ah, the Munich Dunkel. The style I really want when I order a "Dunkel" and accidentally receive a Dunkelweizen... This is a solid one. I wouldn't necessarily give it a trophy with "world class" written all over it; Tree House already has plenty of those. Rover does not stand out to me in any way, but I would happily drink a lot of it.

Decanted from an 16 oz (473 ml) can into a Tree House snifter glass; canned 09/21/20, code MY THOUGHTS, THEY BARK LIKE HOUNDS.
A: Pours a clear, brown color with limited formation a wheat colored, less than one finger head, no more than rim retention, and little or no lacing.
S: Aromas of black coffee, toffee, and cola.
T: Dry. Black coffee and cola flavors predominate with an unsweetened, dark chocolate note. Light bitterness leads to a crisp and refreshing finish.
M: Light bodied with low carbonation. Smooth: drinks very, very easily.
O: This is a gorgeously refreshing Munich Dunkel. Drank it a little late, which I suspect explains the lack of liveliness. Would love to try it on tap.

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at the Tree House Brewery in Charlton for about thirteen dollars. My one hundred and thirteenth brew from these guys. Not a style I normally seek out, but I like this, would get again.

Sampling a cold 16 oz can poured into a snifter glass. The beer was purchased at the brewery about 3 weeks ago and is date stamped 9/21/2020.
The beer pours a dark cola brown color with a fluffy beige head of 2.5 cm foaming up with a gentle pour. this foam fades to a thin edge layer about 1/2 way through my sampling.
The aroma of this beer is fairly mild with some caramel and toasted malt notes. I also get a faint bakers chocolate note. Seems the right scents but I wish that it was a little more aroma.
First sip reveals a fairly light body with very fine and tingly carbonation. Pretty easy drinking physical traits.
Flavor is sweet malt and features caramel and some brown sugar and molasses notes. Kind of sweet on the finish with toffee and maybe some dark fruit. Hops dont really make any show on the flavor profile.
This is a nice malty dunkel, but I find it kind of understated profiles. Id drink again but wouldnt go to Charlton only for this one.

A: Pours a dark brown/black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: Toasted malt, caramel, toffee, dark chocolate, brown bread, light molasses

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the toasted malt, caramel, and toffee. Picks up some molasses and dark chocolate as well as a bit of sweeter brown bread. Finishes with lingering toffee and toast

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A solid Munich dunkel that is very easy to drink. Definitely on the malty side with some restrained hop bitterness that balances nicely. Definitely worth checking out

Surprisingly dark. Looks, smells, tastes like a lightweight stout. Very slight chocolate and coffee-like smell. Probably would not actively seek this out again, but kudos to Tree House for branching out. Better than I expected.

Not a beer I would drive specially to Tree House to procure. I love German Dunkels, but this one was merely passable. Disappointing since I bought a 12-pack of it. Of the Hefeweizen, Wit, and Dunkel varieties I got at the same time, I liked the Hefeweizen (Dreamer) the best of the 3, and even that was not as good as a pretty standard Hefeweizen import. I appreciate the attempt for Tree House to "branch out", but this could be a lot better.

Pours clear, brown in color with one inch head. Taste is caramel, toasted malt and a touch of white bread. Light bodied, clean, moderate carbonation and slightly sweet. Makes for a well done, easy to drink dunkel lager. I prefer German versions but good for the style.
