Surprisingly dark. Looks, smells, tastes like a lightweight stout. Very slight chocolate and coffee-like smell. Probably would not actively seek this out again, but kudos to Tree House for branching out. Better than I expected.

Side pull at the Charlton brewery. One of my favorite styles at the moment in Germany and of course TH matches or exceeds the quality available in Germany. Incredibly rich malt profile with a smooth, chocolatey roastiness throughout. Finish and feel are superb. What a beer!

16oz can into a pint glass.
Almost black body with a small off white head. Roasted malt aroma seems less on the taste. Some nice chocolate and coffee notes. Very smooth.

16 oz van, dated just "Autumn 2022"
Pours very dark brown, cream colored head. Ruby highlights. Decent head retention. Aroma is toasty and mildly roasty malt. Bread dough, pie crust. Taste is similar, with a touch of dark cocoa. Drier finish. Medium bodied.

Dark cola brown with a moderately tall tan foam head dying to a sparse film leaving doily lace.
Unctuous yet refreshing Brazil and walnut qualities meet hints of dark fruit and wheat balanced by herbal hops that again, not unlike Solitude, almost emulate fall foliage.
The firm carbonation is pretty divine on the palate, but my only quibble is that it doesn't quite reach the intensity potential set by some of Tree House's other lagers.
The medium body has a nice froth and finishes semi-dry.

This one pours a golden brown color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like rich bready maltiness, honey, caramel, and some tea-like bitterness.
This is absolutely wonderful, and one of the best dunkels you can have outside of Germany, and honestly just in general, too. This smells like slightly spicy brown bread, caramel, honey, milk chocolate, brown sugar, and toast.
This is so richly malty and super complex, with a perfectly smooth sweetness, and just the slightest hint of spice and bitterness on the back end.
This is creamy, and so drinkable, with a wonderfully smooth finish.
This is a slam dunk(el). It’s just super good.

16 oz can poured into a willi becher glass. Pours dark brown, not quite opaque. Nice tan head with some lacing. Aroma and flavor feature pumpernickel, light coffee and chocolate, earthy hops, molasses, bready malt, and a hint of dark fruit (prune, fig). Mouthfeel is smooth, full but not quite creamy, and moderately carbonated. Overall this is a fantastic style example and a pleasure to drink.
