Notes: An elegant showcase for Australian Galaxy hops, this riff on our favorite blonde ale has just the pale malt bill in common with her sister beer, Eureka. Delicate and pleasantly hoppy, with aromatic and flavorful notes of pineapple, passionfruit, and citrus, you'll have a hard time believing this one is so sessionable. Refined and bright, this is the perfect beer for any occasion. We absolutely adore it.

A: About as pretty as a beer in this style can be. Absolutely gorgeous deep gold mixed with burnt orange. Full, even haze as to suggest juice, not vegetable stock. Plenty of frothy, fluffy, scoopable head that sticks around for while, leaving sticky rings of lacing on the glass. As appealing as any TH beer I've seen.

S: Oh my goodness. Are you kidding me? This is 4.2%? First impression is that I'm smelling Green. Someone at Tree House messed up, and they accidentally put Green in Eureka cans. Seriously, this has that same crazy punch of spicy pineapple, earthy passionfruit, and rich orange sorbet that I get so uniquely in Green. Damn, those Galaxy hops are a crazy animal. It's maybe just a TOUCH on the earthier side, emphasizing more of the pineapple/passionfruit vs. the creamy citrus, but man, that is wild. As it warms, earthy qualities emerge even more. Something tea-like.. ah jasmine flower, that's it. Very floral.

T: Alright, so it isn't Green, but it's not far off. Follows through on the promises of the nose, but not quite as intensely. Soft fruit flavors combine with a sharp, biting resinous quality and a just-barely-sweet malt presence very nicely. There's some passionfruit and pineapple, but more lemon/lime vs. the orange from the aroma. Lighter malt breadiness than I've picked up in other Eureka variants, but it's there toward the finish--very Wonder Bread-esque.

M: Light and airy, using its carbonation as a device to mimic body without compromising flavor. A bit more bitter than other Eureka variants--it has that same bitter green vegetable (think: raw kale) that I get in Green, perhaps even magnified by the lack of malt sweetness given its smaller body.

O: Man, oh, man, if that's not the best sessionable hoppy beer I've ever had... I knew immediately when I smelled it (Green is my favorite IPA), but man, this one hits all the right notes. It's extremely aromatic and flavorful while also maintaining a balance that affords extraordinary drinkability. With more bitterness than other variants, it's more assertive on the palate, but for such a small beer, I welcome that. Incredible stuff.

The only can released when I was there in August. For a blonde this is great. At under 5% abv this beer comes with alot of aroma and flavor. Totally crushable.

Picked up in a trade

Beautiful appearance in a pint glass as most TH beers are. I normally prefer their DIPA's (and Ma, the amber they put out a while ago...wish that would come back) but this is decent.

For a Blonde Ale - pretty darned good. Light and refreshing. Wouldn't wait in a long line for it though.

Can stamped 08/09/17

Thick juicy light orange haze with a large, beautifully creamy head leaving behind big chunks of lacing. Light hoppy aroma has that trademark Galaxy hop fruitiness...passion fruit, lime, kiwi, pineapple, and a wee hint of grassy herbs. Super smooth, creamy, fruity hop flavor with a subtle grainy backbone. Big passion fruit, kiwi, tangerine, and red berry flavors, finishing clean without and residual sweetness. Medium-light bodied, finishing super crisp. Delightful.

750ml THB swing-top bottle filled at the brewery.

First THB WIlli Becher glass pours with a 3/4" white head, over the cloudy orangey amber brew. Head is promptly down to an uneven froth, strong around the edges, with lasting lace. Aroma is citrus with a bit of skanky earthiness, in a good way.

Taste follows the nose, citrus from start to finish, with earthiness also throughout, and a tart close. Slight numbness with lingering citrus after the swallow. Mouthfeel is way soft and smooth, with oh-so easy drinkability. Hello, session brew, glad to know you.

Appearance: Pours out with a huge head that tops the orange honey colored liquid; great stickage and clumpy lacing

Smell: Tropical fruit tones of passion fruit, papaya, guava and a hint of lemon/lime; buttressed by peach and melon

Taste: Bright, floral and juicy, at the outset; slightly dank, with the passion fruit, papaya and guava intermingling with the peach and melon tones; moderately bitter and dank, through the middle, as the lemon/lime flavors emerge; all the elements blend nicely, into the finish, though the honeydew melon is particularly distinct

Mouthfeel: Light body with moderate to high carbonation; lively and refreshing

Overall: I don't know why Tree House markets this as a blonde ale when this is clearly a session IPA; I suspect that if they marketed it as a session IPA to the BA community, the scores would be at least .25 higher

Thanks, marcrgrenier, for the opportunity

Cracking this guy open on this beautiful day in SoCal. Canned on Cinco de Mayo.

Pours an awesome hazy gold, small head of foam.

The aromas here are incredible. So tropical. Getting peach, guava, hints of tangerine. An amazing combination of fruit here. Slight finishes of pine.

Again, a lot of tropical fruit in the flavors. Hints of mango and some more citrus. More of a piney hop presence, and getting malt on the tongue as well. TH defines a fantastic Blonde.

Nice seltzery carbonation, thin body, super crisp and light. Slight malty stickiness lingers. This beer is crazy good.

The second variation of the Eureka series that I’ve tried, and both have been awesome. However, I’ve got to give the edge of Galaxy. This thing is packed with tropical goodness, and the flavors you get are undeniable. Top 3 blondes on my list.
