Poured a clear light red hue. Sweet candy sugar nose, which carries over to the taste. Pretty sweet, slight spice. Very slight hop bitterness, with a mild carbonation mouthfeel.

Not sure why I bought this one, perhaps I just saw Belgian style pale ale and neglected to look at the description. Well, might as well get it over with.

Pours a mild fizzy bubbly head that fades fairly quickly, very little lacing, crystal clear honey orange color.

Nose is interesting, but not great, some doughy bready malts, some sweet candi sugar and a touch of a candy syrup, some phenolic characters that are OK but seem to border meh, a little hibiscus flowery thing, faint aroma of peppercorns.

Taste brings pink peppercorns out front, not super spicy or anything just raw peppercorn flavor, with some more bready doughy malts, as well as candy flavors, candi sugar and a bit of syrup, some esters with a little fermented apple pear thing, a little flowery candied hibiscus, and the candied dried tree fruits, mild phenols again. Finish is a little sweet and sticky, lingering mild esters and sticky candy.

Mouth is med bod, decent carb, little sticky.

Overall meh, the base beer itself was very meh, sticky syrupy with phenols, esters, nothing special, and low abv, on top of that if you were expecting much from the pink peppercorns or hibiscus it was pretty much missing.

Poured straight from the tap with no head, only a couple of large bubbles. These are completely gone by the time the beer is presented. Of course, no lace at all. Nearly clear with a deep amber hue.

The smell is a cross between sour cream and sweet berry.

Starts of with a solid fullness of lightly toasted malt. Sourness comes in next but this largely fades in the swallow. The aftertaste is moderately bitter. Light carbonation. There's a bit of the berry in background.

Poured an amber-copper color with a one finger head in a Stone Imperial pint glass.

Very floral, strong hisbiscus and peppercorn aroma which remains for the tasting.
Some citrus.

Tangy, carbonated.

Mostly peppercorns in the taste with some lingering hisbiscus.

Excellent spicy, hoppy finish.

One of my favorite beers from the brewery.
Excellent pale ale. Lots of character for the style.

Label says 6% ABV, 500ml bottled 4/6/16. Slightly hazy copper orange with modest creamy white head. I think the moderate smell is predominantly peppercorns over malt and what must be hibiscus. Tastes of the spicy peppercorns along with some tangy tartness (hibiscus I guess) with a sweet maltiness and some mild hops. Fairly crisp mouthfeel with moderate carbonation - refreshing clean feel. Overall, a pretty good beer with clear fresh flavoring. Worth trying and could be an occasional change of pace.
