Pours a lighter golden color. Thick 3 finger white head. Retention is ok, and there's some lacing on the glass.
The nose is a tart, fruit aroma. Some raison, and a hint of honey.
Taste - is a mellow, smooth flavor. Some raison. Some honey, I don't really get the tartness I got on the nose. The raison is more up front, but the backside is all honey.
Feel - pretty thick actually. Nice full body.
Easy drinking summer beer.

Enjoyed a pour at 7West Taphouse in Duluth.
Pours a beautiful, clear reddish-brown with a foamy off-white head that sticks around and leaves sheets of lace.
The aroma is fruity and funky with raisin and stone fruit and biscuit.
A lot of fruit initially in the taste along with that yeasty funk and a hint of hay. Raisin, maybe some plum and even a touch of lemon.
Mouthfeel is medium and bubbly.
Really good.

I always look forward to tasting something new from Borealis.
Poured into my teku glass.
A - Pours a clear dark amber with a massive 4 inch white foamy head. Takes about 10 minutes to settle down.
S - Aroma is yeasty and malty.
T - Flavor follows the nose. I'm not getting much raisin at all, but maybe they contribute to the sweetness.
M - High carbonation, medium mouth feel, dry finish.
O - An interesting farmhouse ale. Definitely has a Belgian feel to it. A tasty, unique beer.

one of our collective favorites from the minnesota trip. never had anything like this. its a wheat based saison with raisins in it, but it has so much going on. an appropriately raisin tinted brew, rather clear for what it is, with good carbonation and a short white head with fine retention on top. has a nose almost more like a belgian dubbel with the saison yeast and the raisins working together, definitely not subtle on the raisin, at least in the nose. you can sort of smell its gummy texture and sweet dried goodness, and the saison yeast does indeed have a belgian aromatic as well. the flavor is everything the nose is, but with something a little more summery, lemongrass maybe, and a decent hopping. it also seems to have a slightly wild yeast element, maybe a locally cultured strain or maybe even a little young brett starting to work. the raisin flavor is rather intense, but works perfectly with everything else going on. this is totally original and the execution is elite. it ends up finishing dry and with exasperating carbonation. extremely complex layered brew, my first form these guys. wondering now if they are all this good. might need to find a trade partner to get more of their stuff. was totally impressed by this. one of the best beers from a brewery that i had never heard of that i can remember.

II have had three bombers over the past year. The first and third were good, the middle one erupted like a slow volcano for over an hour. Iā€™m reviewing the first and the third.
A: Copper tinted gold under a 1ā€ finely bubbled off white foam collar that produces fine sheets of lace.
S: Raisins with honey and malt in the background with traces of over ripe fruit
T: A range of fruit centering around plum and raisins, traces of banana with a slightly harsh hop bitterness in the finish.
F: Above medium body and below medium carbonation.
O: A good but not exceptional saison.

Bottles from this northern MN brewery finally made it to the Twin Cities. Tasted 8 March 2014.

Pours cloudy medium orangeish amber. Billowing fluffy white head, 3 fingers or more. Pretty darn pretty.

Smell is excellent. Fruity, flowery saison yeast, with a touch of spice; the raisins provide just a faint dark sweetness. Outstanding balance, with that raisin addition providing just the right sweet touch to complement the rest of the beer.

Taste is excellent. Rich for a saison, with full grains, a decent dose of medium sweet fruit (raisins and peaches), peppery spice, and floral high notes. Yum.

Feel is near-perfect. Medium-bodied, tingly carbonation that adds zest to the spice. Excellent, and a fantastic fit for the beer. Needs that high carbonation to keep the sweetness in motion.

This is top-notch. I see that other reviews are mixed, but I love that taste-tipping sweetness that the raisins provide, and I dig the spicy floral saison that they're adding do. Outstanding.

A. Dark amber in color. A thin ring of foam sticks around for the duration.

S. Belgian spices. Dark fruits

T. Belgian spices. Dark fruits and boozy raisins. The raisins really make an appearance on the finish.

M. Medium carbonation. Light to medium body. Dry finish.

O. Interesting take on a saison. The raisins come through nicely but the abv isn't as well hidden as I'd like.

Lovely glowing golden orange color. Nice active head of foam with some yeast sediment stirring about.

Amazing belgian yeast smell with lots of fruit complexity. Peach, apricot, nectarine, effervescent yeast.

Fruity, mildly funky and plenty spicy, especially at the end. Lightly sour stone fruit on the tip of the tongue, hay and spice in the middle with the spice and some bitterness coming full fledged at the end with a hint of alcohol.

Heavier side of light bodied, drier feel. Plenty of Co2.

Very quality example of the style. Everything you would look for in the style and then some.
