Pours light orange with a small but creamy head that leaves just spotty lacing. Bottle conditioned. Nose is c-hops, but a surprising amount of floral. Not particularly bold though. Taste is light malt on the front of the tongue and bitter toward the rear. Not quite what I'd call juicy, but going that way. Golden Promise malt gives it just a touch of biscuit. Also getting mint. Overall, a good beer but doesn't blow me away in any particular way.

Pale orange with a crusty ring of white foam. 4
Sweet, sweet tangerine with slight resin, fresh cherry and flowers. 4.25
Dried apricot on white toast then tangelo rind, pink grapefruit, white pine, and slight dank. Hits of a catty-honeydew thing that hints at Citra. 4
Guava finish and salty, tightening linger.
Almost medium, chewy, oily. 4

Rockin' it like it's 2008: big citrussy C-hops that takes that naughty half step towards kronik. Punches above 50 IBUs - talking labels, strange to list the malts but not the hops. Nothing revolutionary, but I want to drink the heck out of it. And among the rare American IPAs from Britain that is what it says. 4.25

Pours amber, small head

Light pine, sweet citrus and lots going on in the aroma

Flavour has a bit more lime/lemony punch but more of the same too. Carb is lowish, suits this well. medium drying finish.

An excellent beer and I am delighted it's available in a national supermarket now, good value too

Although this beer has been labeled as "very good" it is actually not bad. It is a bit lighter, waterier than expected and from the unrevealed hop ingredients, I only get Citra, intensive in the beginning but this fades away a little.
Was nice and drinkable but nothing I would go wanting to have again. Not bad. Nothing more.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Jan 2015, so it's just out of date. ABV is stated as 7.4%. Picked up a little while back from Trembling Madness in York. Described as an Extra IPA. I've heard good things about Tempest, so looking forward to this.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. A rich, hazy orange-amber hue with some floating sediment and medium carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of fruity, perfumed hops with hints of tropical fruits, passionfruit, clementine, orange peel, citrus, white grape, mild melon, grass/hay, sweet caramel malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Simply superb.

T: Tastes of insanely fruity hops with a prolonged bitter finish. Notes of tropical fruit, grapefruit, orange peel, citrus, white grape, melon, mild pine, grass/hay, sweet caramel malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Slightly sweet, followed by a strident hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with soft carbonation and good body. Hop oils prickle the palate. Quite astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of fruity hops, bitterness, caramel malt and earthy yeast.

O: Fantastic - everything an American IPA should be. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour are sublime. Seriously fruity, with a well-judged bitterness underpinned by a caramel malt backbone. Great body. Amazing hop presence combined with good balance make this all too drinkable. An excellent beer; don't pass it up if you come across it.

0 foam, just like my previous Tempest beer, don't they like foam in this brewery ? Anyway. The smell is quite weak, I was expecting more. You can guess it's a grapefruit/pine mix though, but the lack of foam doesn't help. However, the taste is quite amazing. Lots of malty taste around a tropical and piny core. This reminds me of Omnipollo in the way they use the malt. However it's more bitter and less fruity than Omnipollo. The carbonation is right on the money, the bitter and fruity final very interesting. It's very well balanced, it grows on you, I'd have this again in a heartbeat. From the two beers I had from Tempest, they seem very well skilled at what they do. It's complex and interesting. But please, more foam.
