Luckily this place was just down the road from the Hampton Inn we were staying in after playing some golf in the Pinehurst area. The building is designed like other Mellow Mushrooms with lots of colors and cartoonish characters, but this had a nice outdoor seating area. The bar could seat about 10, and there were some hi-tops just off the bar too. Curvey shaped tables fit the theme here in the dining area.

There was about 30+ beers on draft here, some typical macros but a nice selection of local NC beers from Foothills, Highland, and Lone Rider. Stone, Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, and Rogue were some of the others.

The food was good, as pizza and sandwiches were tasty and filling. Service was decent, despite the larger crowd here on a Saturday night. The only picky negative was the parking lot which was in the back of the restaurant, and you needed to walk around the building to get to the entrance.

Definitely worthy of stop if in the Pinehurst area. It's easy to get to.

I consider the atmosphere a little on the campy side definitely straight from "Alice in Wonderland" the outside area is very nice, they have a couple corn-hole games set up so you can entertain yourself and a friend or 3 they also have a large screen TV to watch I have been to this establishment numerous times this year, most have been very pleasant experiences this last visit I ordered a Belgium triple and it was served to me in a water glass not my choice of glass for such a nice beer, they said I got a water glass because they did not have enough proper glasses oh well it will be a while before I go back. To be fair the girl behind the bar was not the girl I usually see so she may have been just filling in.
They do have the largest selection of craft beer I have seen in the area and the eats are good as well.

Mellow Mushroom is located directly across the street from Lowe's Home Improvement store in the heart of the Southern Pines business district. I have been coming to SP for years (well actually, I used to come here a lot but my visits have been less frequent), but this place has blown up since my last visit about 2 years ago.

This is your typical MM with a large, open seating area with booths and tables scattered about the vacuous area. There is a very pleasant outdoor seating area, which is the spot I chose on this beautiful, 70F afternoon in early April.

The selection was pretty good but nothing crazy. Your typical micros were here like Sierra Nevada, Stone, with locals such as Lone Rider and Natty Greenes.

The pizza is always good here and the service was great as well. If I were to come back or stay the night in the area, this would certainly be my bar of choice.
