From a 355ml can. Pour had a fluffy 1-inch off-white foam head and an opaque peach coloring. Scent is mango, pineapple, and a touch of orange. Taste has a strong hop profile, with the citric and pine coming through, along with some maltier toasted notes. Aftertaste is hoppy bitterness...and a bit of malty caramel. Feel is medium bodied and all around a fun drink that verges on too bitter but never quite gets there (a good thing for my palate)!

Canned nearly 3 months before drinking, so near end of “fresh” date.

Appearance: Clean amber , with huge off-white head and clouds of frilly, delicate lace.

Aroma: Citrus and tropical hops. Pretty nice.

Taste: Bittering citrus hops, malts in middle followed but another bitter wash of hops. Solid pale ale that approaches IPA territory.

This is a very solid pale ale from one of Kentucky's top breweries. It tasted lemony to me. I had this in a pint glass from a 12 ounce can and need to buy it again in the near future.

I got this off the single shelf from a Kroger just down the road from south metro ice in Dayton, OH. It poured a clear orangish with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had citrus peel presence. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with citrus peel flare. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

This is a great hoppy pale ale. Very hoppy in taste and has a real nice aroma. I like it as much as zombie dust. Pick it up if you get a chance. Great stuff!

Very tasty ale from West Sixth. Just the right amount of hops (hoppy goodness from Mosaic and Citra) balanced by Vienna and Caramel malts. Plenty of tropical fruit on the nose and to taste. Canned from Total in Louisville.

Appearance: A great looking pour, with a thick two fingers settling in over the hazy golden liquid; excellent retention and copious lacing action

Smell: Bright and floral, with pink grapefruit, passion fruit, pineapple and pine

Taste: A touch of biscuity sweetness on the front end, with the hops quickly taking over; pink grapefruit and passion fruit lurch forward with sweeter tones of pineapple and custard apple building underneath; the finish is rather bitter and piney

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Wow, this one took me by surprise as I wasn't expecting a pale ale of this calibre

Thanks, SPLITGRIN, for the opportunity

Super crushable pale ale. Bright citrusy hops with some dank, blunt, dirty sock funk. Taste is well balanced malt vs hops, and finishes with a nice bitter bite. Texture is smooth with some fizz that allows the bitterness to dance on your tongue for a bit. Great brew

From a can into a bar glass, had it on tap to last night. This is a fantastic beer and dare I say, the best pale ale out of Kentucky. I would say the hop profile is similar in taste to zombie dust and dare I say again, I think this might be better. It is super hop forward with a nice light grain bill. Grapefruit, orange, pine in the taste. Just a superb beer and one I am proud of in the Kentucky beer community!

Can poured into pint glass; cloudy golden color with nice carbonation leading to nice one finger head. Dank Hoppiness with grapefruit aroma. Hops greet the palate and linger. Medium body with minimal bite. Well done!

Just enough hop to satisfy thar craving for the hop-heads, nice grapefruit citrus flavor. Just a very delightful pale ale, a surprise for a seasonal at this time of year. Honestly one of my favorites, wish I had better access to it.

Dank and hops, this is a great beer. Amber in color, with a little bit of an off white head. The nose is heavy of hops. Plenty of flavor to back up the hop nose.

Bridging the gap between their DankeChain Octoberfest Beer and their Belgian Blonde, the West Sixth team zig when everyone else zags and introduces an exotically hopped pale ale for their late fall season.

Pennyrile caries a hop-balanced nose with tropical, citrus and spruce perfume and a moderate caramel backbone. Pale copper and crowned with a light arid froth, the beer is as appetizing to the eye as it is to the nose. Initial flavors of toasted grain conjures flavors of granola and graham cracker.

As the ale rolls across the middle palate, it sweetness fades and its hops take full command of taste. Lead with the bold citrus taste of pink grapefruit and tantalizing ripe orange, a zesty tone is set. A follow of mango, passionfruit and dried pineapple ensures an exotic and juicy taste. Late bitterness certainly outweighs the malts while a sense of mulled pine needles and botanical herbs tighten their grip on the gullet.

Medium-bodied and retaining a faint glimmer of malt, a caramelized barley flavor resonates somberly while the hop bitterness is amplified by assertive carbonation and a brisk, mineral bitterness. Semi-dry and quite refreshing, Pennyrile will be a welcome repreive from the host of porter and stout that typically decorate the autumn beer landscape.
