Our West Sixth IPA is hop forward with notes of citrus and pine balanced by a nice bready and toasty malt backbone.

Pours an effervescent gold with a slight hazing & a thumb+ of pearl colored head. Stellar lacing & very good head retention
S: Some grassy notes, breadyness picks up once warm
T: Follows the nose, dryness, some woody bitterness, plus bready sweetness up front. Woody bitterness & a little malt sweetness cutting through, plus more grassy hops once this beer warms up. Finishes a little dry with woodyhops & watery grainyness.
MF: Medium body, dialed back carbonation, decent balance
Old school IPA, 30 years ago this may have impressed me, just fairly run of the mill for the style

It hits a bit hard (too much so). This isn’t McEnroe when he’s feeling it. Right here, in West SixthIPA, he’s pissed and he lets the judge know it as he bazookas a tennis ball directly his way: boom! Straight to the dome!
Anyway, it’s heavy on the honey sweetness and ends on a bit of oily, syrupy note.
Guess what? Raul is out!

Clear, golden colored body; dense, lively carbonation; big head, white and sculpted, sticky sheets of foam draping the glass. Malt-forward aroma; dull sweetness; a bit of pine sap in the background. The taste initially comes across malt-forward then turns towards a nice pine character with a developing, lasting hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body; sticky; semi-dry notes.
A rock solid American India pale ale, show a bit of age, perhaps, as it is definitely more malt-forward (at first) but then the hop character shines through and nicely balances things out. Nicely complex and very satisfying.
Pouring temperature: 41 °F; canning info: 8/22/23 23L191

Whenever I visit my family in Louisville, I pick up a six pack of this excellent WC style IPA.

Orange and slightly hazy with two fingers of Rocky white head. The smell is of peach, tea, grapefruit, skunk, rust, and cream. The taste is of peaches, black tea, slightly sweet, melons and grapefruit, pine, mangoes, and tropical fruit. Medium to heavy, thick resin, the body continues with a big bitter Plaster. Little carbonation. I got this in Kentucky and I’m drinking it in Krabi Thailand, October 20, 2023.

Above average in every way, but outstanding in none. Well-rounded and happy-making.

Draft at brewery. Dark golden pour, small lasting head. Classic IPA notes, malty with a bitter, hoppy bite. What IPAs used to taste like 5 years ago, before the haze.

My all time favorite IPA, a “gold standard” in my opinion. Just a classic, clean interpretation.
