12 oz. can into a New Belgium snifter. Pours a vibrant, slightly hazy golden and settles a dark copper color in the glass. Still pretty hazy, and topped with 1/2 a finger of bubbly, white foam. Quickly receded down into a modrate lacing. Juicy tropical fruit on the nose (mango and pineapple mainly), along with citrus and a sweet maltiness. Medium weight and very creamy on the feel. Lots of citrus and malt initially with a background of sweet tropical fruits. Slightly hoppy on the back end, but has a strong malt backbone. Very well balanced, albeit on the sweet side of the IPA spectrum. Finishes smooth and leaves a light hoppy bitterness and juicy fruit on the aftertaste.

Overall, very good. Being the same type of beer, and the same abv as Two Hearted (one of my favorites), I can't help but to compare. This one is a bit sweeter with more malt forwardness and less hops. Still well balanced, though. Plenty tasty enough for enjoying a 6 pack over the course of an evening. If I had to criticize, I'd say that this one was a little lighter all around. Taste-wise, this almost drinks like a session IPA .

Thanks to rudzud for leaving this with me to try it, I could have sworn I had had it before but I guess not. Canned 5/26/15

Pours a big creamy 2 finger head that fades at a med pace, nice sticky notched lacing, super murky tan reddish auburn brown color.

Nose some hops, orange peel and some citrus zest, a little fruity, seems like what should have been a big citrus blast that seems more aged IPA thing with candied orange peel and a sweet malty aroma, caramel candy malts, reddish malts, a bitter earthy spicy hop in the background, little candied stone fruit. Tons of malt here though, hopefully it's not as much on the taste.

Taste brings sweet caramel malts out front, this isn't an aged IPA effect, just big caramel toasted reddish malts out front, sweet caramel, candy like flavors with only a mild sweetness. Then into hops, spicy grassy quite bitter out front, into a mild citrus in the background, again that candied orange peel, some decent citrus zest, with a bit more candied apricot like. A hint of an herbal pine note with hop oil resin. Finish is dry, big bitterness lingering, with a little spicy grassy hop, candied orange zest, and a little caramel malt flavor.

Mouth is med bod, nice carb, little creamy.

Overall not bad, a bit aged IPA effect, but the malts were also dialed up way too much, hops were OK at best, nothing special, but still a decent drinakble IPA esp at 7%.

Good all-around IPA! Tried it in their brewery along with others in the line-up. Just a good middle of the road IPA, with a moderate nose, and citrus floral type taste. I buy a couple 6-packs every trip to Lexington, KY.
