Poures from a 500ml bottle into an official Reissdorf Kölsch jumbo cylinder glass, one of my favorite glasses. It is a crystal clear straw color with magnificent tiny bubbles rapidly floating to the top and a nice foamy white head that leaves some really nice lacing.

Smell is pretty quaint, a bit of breadiness with very subtle hop.

Taste is crisp and delicious, Kölsches are just the most drinkable brew I swear it is like drinking liquid gold. It has a good medium body that is offset with its brilliant carbonation which equates in my opinion to extremely high drinkablility. Its a great malty beer, and it's got the perfect balance of hops as well. Definitely a bit of bready green apple in here, it ends with a nice dry but bitter hop finish.

I'd say the drinkability on this is even higher out of its "own" glass. These things go down like candy on a hot summer day.

Overall just a wonderful masterfully crafted brew out of Köln brewed in the Kölsch tradition with passion and full attention.

Reissdorf Kölsch has a thick, foamy, slightly off-white head, a clear, bubbly, golden appearance, and some pretty thick lacing left behind. The aroma is of pungent barley malt and generalized beer. Taste is of sweet bread, barley malt, a dash of hearty hops, and clean water. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Reissdorf Kölsch finishes crisp, refreshing, mild, and delicious. Overall, this is quite good, and I strongly suggest checking it out.

L- foamy two inch whitish head. Bright Holden coloured

S - delicious looking- light, flowery hoppiness , with a tiny sweetish malt background

T - balanced, tasty - a slight spicy hop bite hits you first, then quickly turns into a pleasantly sweet note followed by another small spicy hop.

F - refreshing - slightly light but still somewhat creamy with a teeny carbonated evervescence rolling over the tongue

O - Great beer! I want this in a 12 ounce can and then in 12 packs. This is a tasty yet refreshing brew that will go great with any food. This could be a daily go to beer. Outstanding!

This Kölsch is a prime / premiere example of the style. It deserves its high BA rating, and compared with two other German examples sampled today, it is head & shoulders above them. Seek this beer out whenever you can!

@ Redbones BBQ, Somerville, MA.

Crystal clear golden, active carbonation and a nice and tight white lace. Mild tropical fruit in the nose. Nice, big, malty palate and unusual for such a light looking beer, but welcomed. Dextrin and fruity sweetness run side by side. Fruit notes are tea-like, a bit peachy? Crisp mouthfeel. Hops are present, but not upfront. Light bread flavours, some grain dryness in the finish.

This is one of THE traditional Kölsch beers out of Germany. You can't really say more than that.

Clear gold with a moderate white head. The aroma is herbal noble hops, and a little dry malt. The flavor is dry straw malt with hop bitterness finishing it out. Not bad, easy drinking, although I'd probably have trouble telling it apart from a decent German pilsner in a blind taste test.

A crystal clear bright gold color. Inch of light foamy white head faded over a minute. Only a single bubble rises occasionally.

Malt is quite earthy. A mainly hay body with a bit of a note of fresh cut grass clippings. Hops are sharp but subdued. A light white fruit was mainly of pear scents.

Flavors were as crisp as the scents. A very nice mix of apple and pear was the backbone to a main taste of hay. A light bit of plastic taste at the very end of the mouthful.

Decent thickness for the style. Carbonation is only barely present on the surfaces.

A decent brew. Would work well with a summer salad. Worth the try if your looking for something outside of pale ales or stouts. A great style.

A: straw yellow/bubbly/shiny, small alabaster head,
pleasing lacing display

S: fresh/clean grain, mild nutty, hint of grassy

T: sweet grain/corn, earthy grassy middle, dry crisp finish

M: med/light body, tongue prick, dry mouth

O: POW! This is one fine beer. Randomly
grabbed it today, never heard of the brewery.
Will get again; this style is PERFECT for Summer.

Grain aromas with a slight sweetness. Grain carries through to the flavor where other malt flavors come through but are quite subdued. Not much bitterness at all. Beer poured a clear gold in color with a fine bubbles coming from the well carbonated brew.

Poured from a 500 ml undated bottle into a Reissdorf Kolsch glass.

Created a tall head with a vigorous pour. Clear straw color.

Fresh delicate aroma. Mildly metallic. I got a whiff of "feet" as it warmed.

Crisp "puckery" flavor. Nicely balanced. Smooth dry finish.

Mildly "prickly" mouthfeel. Smooth slippery swallow.

Very drinkable. Refreshing, cleansing.

This Kolsch proves that subtle can still be great. Reading some of the other reviews, it would seem that people expect this to have over-the-top, smash you in the face flavor simply because it is an ale. But the beauty of a Kolsch is in its simplicity. Refreshingly simple, but still clean and tasty. Remember it is a lot more difficult to brew a subtle beer than it is to add a few more bales of hops to the kettle.

This Kolsch pours an amazing pale golden color with a generous puffy white head that rises with the abundant carbonation.

The aroma is a sweet blend of clean malt sweetness with a slight fruity backdrop with floral notes.

The taste is light, refreshing, malty with some fruitiness, but amazing clean.

This is a great summer beer. I wish more of its cousins from Cologne were available in the States.

Had this at the Rogers Park version of Hop Haus, a Leona's spin off version of a sports bar, this was one of only 6 drafts, probably the best choice.

Came in a nice tall kolsch glass, nice clear golden yellow with a fluffy head. Decent lace.

Nose is fruity from the yeast ethers and light hit of hops.
Taste is the same, very light and refreshing, my wife said it didn't taste like beer (which for her is a good thing) so I think it hits the style spot well, no lingering aftertaste, just balanced and quaff-able. Not very complex but very nice and light on the palate, an easy drinker, a very session type beer. Very fresh from the tap, don't know if a bottle from across the ocean would go so well.

poured from a 500ml bottle: aroma is sweet and grassy, a crystal clear yellow color with white frothy head that reduces but good lacing, a light touch of fruity sourness, a mediium body, creamy texture and lively carbonation, very long, soft and pleasing finish. I really like this beer and could drink these several of these at a sitting!

L: Cleargolden yellow. Not much head.

S: grassy, earthy hops.

T: Follows nose. Some spice. Peppery. Fairly dry.

F: Moderate carbonation, light body.

O: This hit the spot after a long trail run in the mountains on a warm, sweaty day.

Sweet, light, and well-rounded are good descriptions for this beer. It's a great sit-on-your-deck-in-the-sun brew. Shallow, but attractive white head didn't last long, but left nice lattice. Smells faintly of hops. Foretaste is sweet and malty, and the inital perception is that it's got more body than it, in fact, has. Grainy and grassy and finishes very light.
